That's a bit harsh what you're commenting about.

Most of the active VIC 206gtiers just come back from RA, and were quite busy to get RA ready, you can't expect ppl to turn up just because there's a drive.

And mr random, here is some evidence that all the melbourne pug drivers aren't scared of drivedays... (except reggie - he disappeared after the photoshoot)

why don't you organize one and have aroute ready and people can sign up for it ? instead of posting a message asking on a phantom event ??

The 1st of Nov. is a Tuesday so you aren't going to get any takers for a weekday. Do as Jason said and organise your own. Have a look at my [QLD] Brissy Drive Sat. 5th Nov. http://www.aussiefrogs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28282 post.

Of course you need to set the route to travel. A good finishing point is a pub for lunch, or some sort of picnic area.

November 1st is Melbourne Cup Day and I am busy that day!

What are the chances of 13th November?? Mind you the chances of me finding a new driveshaft by then is practically non-existant.

People have lives. It isn't that easy to free up an entire day to go for a trip.. And just because I may have a free day, it doesn't mean that someone else will have.

It took four months of planning and emailing before the drive day I organised happened.. These things take time.

Nov 13th is DECA, a few of us are heading there.

Like I pointed out, if it's planned ahead, WITH ROUTES and a proposed date, people might show their interest.

Always have the event organised before picking a date. And that's my final word on organising drive days.

Default anyone else up for a blat?

    hi random,

please dont feel dissanchanted by the replies (with some baring a fairlu pesemistic tone).

drive days have always been a regular occurance here in melbourne, always drawing good interest (do a search onm our drive days). for the very few peeps who had the time (and patience) to organise such social gatherings, have either given up organising (difficult to get everyone at the one place, at the one time - as youll probably discover in your search), or are now just time poor (including present company).

there has always been the usual froggers present, with a smattering of newer blood coming along for a blat, too.

its great to read some of you newer froggers have a keen interest in a meet-up-of-sorts.

get the ball rolling, and im sure youll create some interest and discussion with a few of the regular guys (who are always up for a blat), and (hopefully) some of you newbies, too.

1st week in nov, is arguably too soon, as some folks have other priorites. hey im up for a drive, last week in november/1st week in december, would be just sweet for moi. this would give peeps plenty of time to organise time off/whatever.

sundays have always created the greatest interest so i say a sunday drive falling on one of the weekends.

also, couldnt be stuffed discussing alternative routes - i say healesville and the dandenongs and beyond has always been the best drives. and a full day's wack, too. bbq lunch is always cheap and cheerful.

    anyone else???

Around then i am definately up for a drive... If it is soon i am probably out, but when the 205 is on the road i want to give it hell.

Personally, i wouldn't be overly worried if there aren't big numbers present. The most fun i have had on a drive was just with four other AFers (even if we had to go easy for ashvsaods sake lol) - once they get really big it starts getting complicated as you have to stay together, then you get a massive train if you hit traffic.

How about we pencil in the first week of december? After that you have to start worring about Xmas parties and other crap...

So, who is in? Reg, Asanka, Ky - how many white 205s could we line up?
