    Default WA French Car Day

Are the organisers of the WA FCD aware that 9 October is Bathurst Day? I know French cars and Bathurst are at opposite sides of the spectrum, but I would also think that many car enthusiasts of all types watch Bathurst religiously.
Just curious, as the notice above indicates the date is not yet fixed.

That's the same as last year. Last year the Peugeot Car Club had a TV going showing Bathurst. Maybe they will do the same thing this year?

It's also usually Spring in the Valley, which gets a different type of passing trade . And I think the TV and generator are standard fair each year ... just need a better tent, the wind kept trying to steal last years !!!

Just as well there were plenty of us around to keep popping the stakes back into the ground.

Is the French Car Day at the same location this year? SIVA were the ones organising it again aren't they?

I believe it is supposed to be ACE's turn this year, but I had heard SIVA were taking it up this year. Perhaps I heard wrong?

More to the point. Are the Bathurst organisers aware that they are clashing with the FCD??

Why doesn't WA hold their FCD around Bastille Day like the NSW and Q clubs do?
    Cheers Simon

Still no updates on WA French Car Day-perhaps they have decided Bathurst would interfere.

Nothing West motoring pages "upcoming events" though quite a few scheduled for Oct 9th.

    Westair and others,
The French Car Day has for years now clashed with Bathurst. Doesn't seem to affect the turnout. I think we are dealing with a different demographic ?
The first French Car Day was held on or near Bastille Day but being in August the weather can be a bit iffy.

Personally I'm always cranky that the FCD clashes with the big Autojumble at Cannington. The No 1 event of the year for me.

Oh, if you are looking for a mention in the events column of the local muttering pages, have a look a week after the event!!

Just thought I may go having a driveable French car again.
Might even run into some of the old Froggy drivers from Caversham like Wilyman, Goddard, Slater etc.

Wilyman caught up with me late yesterday, poor old bugger he was desperate for a bit of social intercourse. Nobody was answering phones, must have been something on in the afternoon. I was his last call, should I be flattered?
He will be at the WA FCD, arriving later in the morning because of another engagement. Looking over someone's old car parts or something??

He's still basking in the afterglow of the "Pilotes Anciennes du Caversham" weekend.
