Default Renaultsport and Alpine Expo (in conjunction with Brissy French car day)

For the Renaultsport and Alpine owners who may not be aware of this, the Renault Car Club of Queensland have organised a three day event featuring a splendid and technical drive from Brisbane up to the Glasshouse Ranges on the Saturday the 9th of *July* (the day preceding the French Car Day held at St. Lucia).

The whole event runs across the 8th, 9th and 10th, with dinners and meetings etc. organised throughout.

For more information regarding this event, the RCCQ site is here:

    http://renaultclubqld.com.au/

The registration form for attendance, which also contains many details of the event, is here:

    Registration and Information form

The event is being discussed on Oz Renaultsport Forums:

OzRenaultsport Thread on the RS & Alpine Expo

As can be read on Oz Renaultsport, there was a ‘test’ run of some of the planned Saturday drive and reports from all and sundry were that the roads are fantastic and good time are to be had by all.

I know many of you are already attending, and recommend to all who have an interest in a good drive and a good socialise will have a great time. I'm certainly looking forward to it.

See you there on the 8th of JULY!

    Icon4 RS&AE - register NOW!!

Well here I was all ready to post a reminder for all Renaultsport, Alpine and Gordini owners and enthusiasts to register for the RS&AE and Byrnes's done the work for me (thanks !!!)

Seriously tho folks, I urge you to register now, if you haven't already. This will be a great event.

Saturday will be particularly enjoyable with a breakfast followed by a truly spectacular and rewarding drive including a photo shoot of all the attending vehicles, lunch on top of the Mountains near Melany, and topped off by dinner at a French restaurant!

I've driven the route on a test drive with the event organisers and liked it so much I drove it again by myself!

Sunday, as BBB said, is with our pug and citroen colleagues at the annual Grand Display of French Cars at Qld Uni (Click here for more details on the Grand Display of French Cars)

To properly finalise the logistics, we need you to register NOW..........Click here to get the Registration Form - BBB's post contains additional links and details.

If you have a Renault, a Renaultsport, an Alpine or Gordini, you owe it to your car and yourself to attend!

    See you there!!!

Can I be a bit pedantic and point out to BBB that if the date is correct, he'd missed it by 3 days when he posted the original message.
Failing that, perhaps he meant JULY??

Nate, thanks very much for the drive up the coast. It was a real pleasure.

Congratulations to Ian, Dennis & the others who organised the RSAE in Brisbane on the week-end. As was their desire, this was the best Renault event ever to be held in Australia.
It was definitely worth the long haul from Adelaide to Brisbane.
The whole weekend went off like clockwork.

The highlight for me was the fantastic drive in the hills on Saturday, following John Hardy in another A110 and being followed by Bob Watson in a Magane 225 Turbo. The roads had some of the steepest climbs and sharpest switchback turns that I have seen, and were ideal for the A110.

The Grand Display of French Cars was also a joy to be at, with great surroundings, some fantastic cars and plenty of like minded people to chat to.

It was also an unexpected honour to pick up a prize with the high standard of Alpines, Gordinis and other Renaults in attendance.

Again thanks to the many people who put on a great event.
