Mostly things start breaking up after 2:00 pm and you would be able to escape quite easily by 3. At 8:00 you will beat virtually all the Cit club members as they have trouble getting there before 9:30, particularly if there is the possibility of a spot of rain.

I can't remember the last time we were rained out. We have been just lucky, I guess.

It was overcast with heavy sprinkles towards the end in 1999. But it didn't spoil the day or rain it out. Unlike the Vic FCD of 2000 when it was cancelled with no alternative venue while everyone was travelling there :-)

    Yep... Cattle Breeding District

The uni is about 8kms out of the CBD. Probably (depending on traffic) about 10 minutes drive.

Default Renault Sport and Alpine Expo

The Grand Display of French Cars will be finishing event for the Renault club of QLDs' Renault Sport and Alpine Expo. Total number of Alpines at around 15 (most from Melbourne) and then all Gordinis and of course the new Renault Sport vehicles.

Total no. looks to be 50-60 cars for the RSAE, plus the usual group, which will be a change from normal with us having being the smallest mainstream car group. (There are a half dozen Simcas usually)

I expect Bibendum (Michelin Man) will be there, with the crowd favourite Can Can girls, and the usual french pastries and food. Bob Watson of Peugeot and Renault rallying fame of the 60s and 70s ( Won Aust Rally Champ 1970 in R8G) will be there as an added bonus.

As the Brisbane event is a week before the Sydney one, some of us will be making the trek down south for that event also.

    "Déesse" Roland Barthes, 'Mythologies', 1957

The Déesse has all the characteristics of one of those objects fallen from another universe that fed the mania for novelty in the eighteenth century and a similar mania expressed by modern science fiction: the Déesse is first and foremost the new Nautilus.

As long as we can get the suit, I am sure Bib can wander over your way. It is amazing how hot it gets wandering around up and down the slope. The other problem is you can only see beyond three metres, with a 30 degree horizontal span of sight, and size 25 feet.

    But it is fun!!!

Last I heard, they were going to Bathurst but that's a while back now.

I notice there's a few cars for sale at present, so a great opportunity for anyone with a (French) car they want to sell, to have it parked in the middle of a group of people all hyped up on French cars that day.
How is the weather looking down there?
Don't laugh, but we have had rain every day for over a month up here, so I'm wondering if this year "Chicken Little" the weather man might be right and if so, are there any arrangements made for this if it were to occur?
Usual arrangements with covers and the like??? Brad??

Shaping up to be a big show this year by looks of things with all the Renaults being there on top of the usual and I can imagine the Cit dealers going full on with the release of the C4 since the last FCD.

Many northern NSW guys coming up??

Dunno 'bout a drive after, but what's the possibility of the AFers getting together at this event and setting up a barbie somewhere, chuck some snails on it and wash em down with a few xxxx goldies??
