Default rd 5 AF go cart championship at ACE KARTS sunshine on a sunday yet to be finalised.

guys, its been since october of last year since we had our last go-cart meet.

weve had 4 extremely fun and successful rounds.

whod be interested in the 5th installment of the AF go-cart championship her in melbourne?

the consensus in the passed has always been that ace karts in sunshine has been the fastest and most real life/best track/best venue/best value in vic.

because we here in melbourne consistently take too much time on deciding on venues and dates, i was hoping_those of you that are interested_would agree to hold another round at ace-karts instead of piss farting around, and besides the new track is more competetive.

if you are interested please confirm your interest in this thread and specify a date that would be suitable.

this thread is obviously still at its infancy - just trying to get a feel of how many of you would be interested

every round weve had maximum carts on the track (21 is max from memory).

im thinking we do the usual "melbourne round" which offers 1 practice/qualifying session and 2 proper races. its about $75 dollars and is money well spent.

    anyone?

yes and i do have a bad case of insomnia

edit: actually i think it is the 5th round... someone correct me if im wrong.

good to read of early interest thus far, even from you chris

the only out of towner weve had on a go-cart day is Deka (derek) from sydney who is now missing in action... last i heard he had a sex change and joined the circus as the bearded lady.

here a two threads of previous go cart days for your perusal. youll find that we do have quite a bit of fun... and yup its well worth the cash

we can all agree to disagree on a date when more interest develops

im in,and ill probablly turn up this time.and also i can actually use my helmet instead of it sitting gathering dust .ill also be interseted to check out the new track.
dont invite casnell, the way he drives he will be finished and showered before we even finish our 10th lap.
also he'll want to bring a truckload of gravel to throw on the circuit.
either that or hell turn up in the evo 7 and blitz the track
and its getting tiresome having to thread my way thru the pack of grid girls to speak to him-BAZZ

If my budget lets me, and it's on a Sunday...Count me in!!! (It's been 15 odd years..and I do mean odd ..since I've been go-karting! But can we make it quite a bit further down the track so I have time to save up for it?
(either that or everyone come & buy a car off me so I can afford to go!!!!)

If I could intrude on this North of the border thread . Armunn, is there still that kart place in Launceston? If so we could maybe look at orgainising something down our end as there are few of us around.

Ok you lot can carry on. Sorry to butt in.

Thanks Armunn, it's been 10 years since I've been there so I wasn;t sure if they still existed. Good to know.

    hi guys,

thank you for the keen interest from the usual regulars and newbies, thus far.

the venue for rd 5 of the af go cart championship is confirmed for ACE KARTS in Sunshine. the confirmed booking will be for the Melbourne track which is 1 practice/qualifying session which is timed. two races will take place after this session. cost will be $75-ish is good value. all of the above confirmed, replicates previous rounds. it is the best venue, with the fastest most realistic racing on offer. everyone has had an awesome time, and i do not dboubt this round will be different. places will be limited to (i think) 20 participants.

also confirmed is the day_sunday_as this is the day that is most suitable for most interested parties - the same as previous rounds.

if you are not up to speed with previous threads re: organising an event for melbourne afers, you will find that we cant organise squat_even after 15 pages of posts!lolz

all of the above is confirmed. if any of you have any issues, please let us know via a post.

we will give it another week or so to drum up more satisfactory interest before the sunday date is confirmed. please do not fret as we always give plenty of time for those that need a reasonable amount of notice to organise "priorities".

if you are keen, please confirm your interest with a post to this thread.

as always, we have the best time. go cart days are one of the most casual and simplistic introductions to any af event.

im thinking a usual bbq lunch close to the venue and a short cruise to the track to follow. a 3pm-ish start at the track is being copnsidered.

any thoughts? or are you happy for me to play god?lolz

cheers and lets get a few more of you on board... and lets hope it rains!

dont woory as helmets are provided. if it rains you will also be suited up in overalls. a trophy and caps will be given to the highest 3 place getters. a print out of your race times lap per lap is also provided.

its fugn awesome so dont miss out as priority will be given to those of you that confirm first!

cheers and hope to see all of you there

reggie - sounds good. what ever you organise should be good with me! keep it to a sunday and ill be there with bells on. bbq sounds good, but i dunno where is good as i dunno that are well... you could always crack the Weber out in the carpark if worse comes to worse

al - carting isn't much of a challenge. just tons of fun. foot flat to the floor, and point the wheels where you want to go. there is going to be a practise session... so you should be into the swing of things by the races.
