It'd be nice to see some RSCs & a bit more diversity in models there. So far we've had a mix of 205s & 206s...

I might see if I can be the lone Renault in a sea of Pugs. I am a member of two car and one bike club, and work six days a week, and admit that unfortunately other activities have intervened. I'll see as we get closer to the date. I am not sure if I can keep up, by the stories I have read of past escapades.

i'd very much like to come along if i possibly can... would a red 405 be out of place?

that would make it my first social outing for AF (or any car thing for that matter)

    please advise times/places/suggestions

Any french car is welcome. Aiming for a meeting time of 8:30 on the 9th (Sat), so we can be on our way by 9am at the latest. No meeting place decided yet but the route will be the back roads of Mt Tamborine.

Brissy isnt a lightyear away from here, i should see if i can summon the strength and courage to make the jorney up (about 2.5hrs drive with hiway patrol watching you like a hawk with excellent eyesight and binoculars, the good sort you see for like $800 from National Geographic).

Simon, Industrie, how would you go being unfamiliar with the roads we would be driving on? Obviously I am unfamiliar with these outter brissy roads... would one keep up? I would probably need to find accomodation somewhere...

Heh. You know how I missed the last drive day 'cos of a track day out at Darlington Park? Well, there's another track day out at Darlington again... and it's on the 9th April. I'll see how I go, I may or may not.

9th is great for me too. A friend of a friend may even bring along a 406 coupe, and I'm pretty sure it's not the guy who wouldn't go over 70 on a previous run.

Not a problem with unfamiliarity, some of the roads we went on last time I hadn't driven in eight years. We didn't travel at warp speed the whole time. If I could keep up I'm sure you'll keep up!

Chris, you wouldn't have to come all the way to Brissy to join us. You could meet up with the crew at say Mt Tamborine or somewhere near there. You wouldn't have to stay overnight because it is really only a days outing, though travelling to and from Alstonville is definitely futher than Brissy, but not much more. I'll talk to you about it on Easter Monday.

We all have our priorities Richard. I suggested the 2nd, but some that came on the 26th couldn't make it then, so I made it the 9th. It was going to be the 16th but BSCC moved round 1 of the QRC to the 16th, and as I'm officiating I didn't want to miss the drive. Anyway there will be others if we keep the ball rolling.

anyone unfamiliar with the mt tambourine roads, don't worry at all. its about an hour from where i live (in logan city) to the city centre on tambourine.

the roads aren't that tricky, just watch for trucks and we'll be fine. and well, i've never been to one of these before but i dont intend to hammer my car at high speeds the whole time. (i am only on P's after all). maybe the odd 5 grand in second i take it that won't be a problem for us 'nanas'.. surely i wont be alone in the 'slow' category?

I meant getting accomodation up the coast on Friday night so i could make the 9:00am start without having to first do 2.5 hrs drive which would mean getting out of bed early... you know . Although i would gain the hour from daylight saving...

Coles have only sold three 180s. A red one that went to Sydney, a black one that lives in Lennox, and a blue one that lives near the Wollongbar TAFE. The more the merrier.

it took me like 15 seconds to get that...

Unfortunatly I spoke to this chap about his GTi180 (a blue one that he obtained from down sydney) only to have him lament that he will be unable to attend, mostly because he wasnt planning to be in this area over the easter brake but also because it was written off last December when some guy had a heart attack reversing out of his driveway. Thankfully the old chap was out of hospital the following day good as gold, but the car will never move under its own propulsion again.

To make matters worse he said he really wanted to come, but just couldnt... dang

now, back to the topic. Hell yea, I will meet you at Mt Tamborine for sure and certain. the g/f knows those roads really well - i will have experianced navigator.

No I don't but any written off 138/180 is a pile of parts witing for a buyer. I'd like to get hold of some 180 seats, just like every other 138 owner would. The brakes and wheels would also be good things to get, along with front and rear suspension compenents.

    Icon14 new 225

Hi folks - I've got a week old 225 (actually it's 8 days old) and would love to ease her along ........ currently controlling myself and following the instructions like a good boy to keep revs under 3-3500 for first 1000km, which will hopefully do before the drive day, so then its game on. Be good to have at least 2 Renaults there amongst all the Pugs.

Excellent Verve. The more the merrier. For those north of the city we can organise to meet prior to meeting down south. Haven't worked out where that will be yet.

Great Domo. Looks like there will be some Renaults, then. Don't know any blue 180 owners in Brissy so please do invite him.
