Melbourne Cruise 3 of 03...route/date suggestions?

I had a great time on Sundays cruise and would be keen to go again in the future (hopefully MR RENO will let me have a drive next time cry )

    Any suggestions?

Perhaps a previous route could be used to make preperation easier??

I thought the BBQ Idea was good once we actually found one that worked

You've got it totally wrong there, eeeeeeveryone here knows an Aussiefrogs sticker is worth more than NOS, Optimax and a turbo combined roll_lau

    converted,
I tried it on my Farlane "spelling intentional"
The sticker took offense and started terminal rust, most unusual, & not a pretty sight.

Well since I've missed both cruises i think the next one should be soon. :p Seriously I think the cruise should be a regular thing. Once a month or every 2 or 3 maybe? Thoughts? It would probably lead to less time wasting trying to organise a date if was set regularly

If people take the initiative, it's quite easy to have more regular drives.

What about one of the routes that we've already done... in the opposite direction?

Doesn't bother me In a forward gear of course

Makes planning a lot easier too Some roads also have a different personality going the other way round.

Generally I prefer going uphill rather than downhill - even though the car stops better than it goes, somehow it's more reassuring knowing when you slow down going up a hill, those rear wheels have some weight on them.

But since we're on the topic, i like climbing too although going downhill seems a bit more fun/dangerous/challenging

    You're right on that one.

By the time I got home, Melbourne Cruise One 2003 was about 500km!!! Given that some people really had travelled quite some distance, I felt a little pressure to come up with a fun route wink

Too soon i think. How about sunday 3rd of August, 2 days after the pug car club meets on friday, so we could advertise! Its only a week later but its a month apart.

Or do we want to set the date further away so ppl can plan. I think i remember the last one, we only really decided on the date a few weeks b4.

    do ppl need more notice?

I'm OK with any of these weekends. Even if I don't get the Pug's panels fixed up by then, mechanically it will be fine. spanner

Some people aren't available on Sunday...

I missed the last one because of this! I'm only one person of course. Maybe I should be the organiser, then I can make sure it's a day that suits me!! wink

I'm posting a poll for the two weekends. I think we want at least 10 ppl to come right? So if less than 15 vote we wont do it i think. I think it should be on one of the two or maybe i will include the one after just in case.

I should still be coming for the 26th. I'm thinking though, that I might do the cruise and pass on the Yarra Bvd thing, or maybe the other way round - do Yarra Bvd and pass on the cruise.

Again, it's because the Pug isn't happy and is feeling a bit off. dead Hopefully it will be OK for both drives - I'll keep you guys posted on it's progress.

    Cheers,
    Richard

I've had a much better idea. I'm going to make a poll where we vote on all the days we can attend and the one with the most attendance will be the day! Sorry for poll #2
