Default Canberra- January drive and picnic

Rather than go for a long drive in the country on a hot Sunday afternoon in our "maturing" French cars, how about meeting somewhere cool for an evening picnic.
Wednesday 12 January: evening BBQ or picnic by a local lake or river. Any preferences?

No replies from this forum, but Renault club members have decided on Black Mountain Penninsula for the location of this event.

So, Wed 12 Jan from 6pm to dusk meet for a BBQ/picnic at the penninsula. BYO food and drink.

Any suggested destinations for February drive?

I won't be able to make it to your meet, but looks like Rusty from Canberra will be there. Rusty, are you coming to the Canberra BBQ next week?

Not sure about Canberra drive yet, friends wanting to go to beach apparently during that weekend, and I've been told that I'll be there

But yeah sydney trip is looking promising. Gimme a reason to visit bondi beach as well. Seem to have some obsession with beaches at the moment

Canberra BBQ is actually next Wednesday evening, not on Sunday, just for a change.

Planning on being there, early for a Kayak on the lake and then a BBQ. Should have the old gold sitrun.

It is hot, but as far as I know there isn't a total fire ban, so BBQs should be operating. See you this evening, I will be driving my 306.

Great to see so many people at the BBQ/picnic yesterday evening. 7 cars from ROCC and 4 from PAC, though not all Aussiefroggers. Also not everyone driving their appropriate marques, such that there were only 3 Renaults and 6 Peugeots in carpark plus two "others". But a great evening and enjoyable conversation.

Cruiserman, saw your Citroen at a distance but did you stay out on the lake?
