I thought I should post some approx. times. Track was warm. until it rained mid. afternoon. I didn't run but here's something to think about:

    Wuillemin's (205/Mi16) - 1:54
Tekkie (well sorted rice) - 2:03
    Parry (std. S3 205 GTi) - 2:04

When you have a look at what other cars do a 1:54, I think you'll agree it's pretty impressive. Parry knocked 4 secs. off his previous effort and looked superb in the corners. Look out when his 205/Mi16 hits the track!

I love E.C. Considering I was int he slower group of 1st timers (rightly so) I had a ball of a time chasing down various cars. Unfortunately all the passing did reflect in the "poor" times. But I had a ball. The most fun I had was once the track became wet and most people dissapeared. At the end I did 2 sets of 3 timed laps with only 2 other cars present. Sideways action with lift-off oversteer had me grinning like an idiot. The biggest problem being a lack of traction in a FWD which was chronic once the rain came down.
The wet times I was doing were in mid 2:20's.

The highlight of the day for me was passing the red 911 (mid 80's?) under brakes into corner #2 after chasing it for two laps and finally catching it shortly before turn2.
I cant wait until the next E.Creek event. Love that track.

The event was beautifuly organised and a LOT of credit has to go to Morgan Club for the effort that obviously went into making this a sucessfull day. Cheers Guys.

Edit: Peter, as much as the 2:03 would be nice, the best I managed on saturday was 2:04:3? (from memory) but thanks for the vote of confidence wink

The photos from the day are <a href="http://www.jpmphoto.com.au/Galleries/morgan_supersprint_23_08_03/23_08_03/index.htm" target="_blank">here</a>

My highlight of the day was racing with V12 XJS for 4 laps, he had so much power down the straight but the little pug was all ove hime round the corners, but jeez the jag is big and takes up 3/4 of the road so passing was almost impossible. Finally took him when he made an error in the hairpin on the ;last lap. My own little GP.

I was very happy by improvong 4secs from my previous outing at eastern creek, thanks to Owen and Adrian for their driving tips, every tip they gave me I improved by a second.

I had several people aproach me after the session as ask me what tweeks my car had and they didnt realise a Pug could handle so well. Alas my car is stock as they come.

The other fun part was my main competition in previous rounds was a 1.6 MX5 which I beat. The owner traded it in for a new 1.8 so he can beat me, but Alas again the Pug was way to quick!!!

    Great day!!!!

The New race car will have its first outing at Wakefield in 4 weeks time. Not with the Mi16 though.

And all PeterT and I could do was sit and watch. cry

I'm going to get out there one day.

And the Wuillemin's 205 sounds absolutely amazing. And it LOOKS quick on the circuit. Its an absolute beast.

I took some very dodgy, very short movies with my digital camera. I'll try and put them up for you guys. Don't think there is any sound. Still trying to figure out how to use the camera properly.

    Darren
