Default Canberra "Club Plate" monthly drives

French car run to Temora Sunday November 28 being organised by Michael Pedvin of Canberra Citroen Association, [email protected].

Flying stats at 10:00 sharp ( there is no program at this stage however
visit there website www.aviationmuseum.com.au closer to the event and
an idea of what is likely will be posted) so this is a good time to get
there as it means there is a good chance we can park in a sealed
carpark rather than a dusty paddock by that time of year.

So in order for that to happen I have arranged to meet the Coota push @
the roundabout park in Wallendbeen @ 09:00 and leave about 09:20. So I
guess that means if we leave the ACT @ Hall on the Barton Highway @
07:15. The distance is according to the Caltex trip planer.com is 128km
with a 1hr 53min travel time which allows for site seeing. I say a 1hr
28min /average speed of 80 = 1hr 36min so there is plenty of time for
    the meet.

The return trip is direct from Temora to Coota for a bit more fellowship
with the Coota push and making use of daylight saving will enable a bit
of a look around in Coota then home via Jugiong then along the Hume @
110 km/hr to Yass then along the Barton Highway @ 100km/hr. The return
trip is a shade under 200km and the trip planer estimated the time @
    3.15min.

For the more intrepid there is the possibility of returning via Wee
    Jasper, a distance of 233 k.

Temora can be very hot and there is very little shade unless one
retreats to a hanger between shows so I recommend that sun block,
umbrellas be utilised to the max. A chair is also a prized possession
too. Catering is done by the local Bush Fire brigade so the usual stake
sams etc are available along with cold drinks and ice creams.

    Time table:

Barton Highway & ACT boarder depart 7:15 travel to Wallendbeen 128km ETA
    09:00
Wallendbeen to Temora with Coota push 09:20 arrive Temora in time to
    access sealed carpark by 10:00

Depart Temora after show 16:00 to 17:00 for Coota 56km, bit more look
    around.
Return to Hall and Canberra 166 km @ leisure or group eta Hall 20:00

Due to the locust plague covering south west NSW, the flying day at Temora was cancelled last weekend. So we have postponed this club plate drive until next year (probably April or May).

Next "club plate" events are lunch at Barrique Cafe in Murrumbateman on Dec 12. Set menu, 3 courses, $33 per person. Please contact me ASAP if you are interested in that one.

January- leisurely drive within ACT with picnic lunch near river or lake.
