    Maleny Cit-in Update

    From the citroen_ Committee:
The planning for the Citin has been going on for some time now. It is good to be able to tell you that there are registrations from all States and a good roll up is now assured. We have organized an exciting time for all Citroen enthusiasts and are set for a Citin not to be missed.

For planning purposes, we need to know when you are coming and whether you are bringing friends. The event is not restricted to Club Members but we do need to know your intentions, even though they may be imprecise at the moment. Please get in touch with Len, Bob, or any Citin Committee member.*

Raffle. The James Corbett sculpture is now completed and will be a talking point. It is a metre long D Cabriolet which would be pride of place in any enthusiastís or art loverís home. It has been valued at $2500, but like any art treasure, the true value is above that manner of evaluation. It is indeed a work of art.
For many, the second prize of the quilt, crafted and donated by Jenni Boyd, would be even more desirable than the sculpture to some. The French provincial fabrics, both sides, are a joy to behold and the artistry and needlework of Jenni is to be much respected. Third prize is yet to be decided.

Venue. On arrival at Maleny, the Show Grounds is easy to find. Just continue on through the main street of the township. At the end of the shopping centre, the road splits to Woodford, or to Kenilworth. Take the sharp left turn to Woodford and the Showground will be on your left within a minute. You will be met at the gates by a club member who will show you the area allocated to us for the Citin. Registration will be in the pavilion overlooking the oval and the camping ground and will be staffed from 1200 onwards on Friday 18th April.

Donít wait to hear how good it was from someone else.
    Experience it yourself.

    All AFAIK -
There is no problem in just turning up and parking your car as part of the Grand Display. The organisers will be in Red t-shirts with a logo on them, and will probably be directing parking.
If you want to partake of the organised catering, or wish to participate in that afternoon's motorkhana you would, however, have to contact the Committee beforehand.

I'll be there in my (aussiefrog stickered)dark blue GS wagon, rather than my Xsara. Hope to see you there.

That's right - 4got about the old [email protected] factor that loves to get up before the sun, just to check that it still comes up. I reckon there will be some mighty sore and sorry heads on the Sunday morning. Maybe they don't plan on going to sleep.

Glad that Deb and I are staying some distance out of town. We might just have our own brekky and meander in ready for the show.

Yeh, Craig - read it, read it. Have printed out the numbers but am not expecting I'll need them, thanks again. Did it via the email at work one day when I was having trouble with Mailwasher and my email server doing strange things to each other - used my usual solution - turned home computer off and came back a day later. Is this how you techies solve such problems, as it often seems to work for me

Mother horrified at the idea of driving the CX to Maleny - "It's a big car and that's a narrow road"- suppose it's not the best place to learn the intricacies of Vari-power steering.

Now resigned to taking the GS and the Xantia

Wishing all those setting out for Maleny a safe and enjoyable drive. May your Citroens rise and settle only when appropriate, etc, etc.

ps This year Queensland Police policy is joining that of other states that have a 'holiday loading'.

Not much use here. Traditionally there are some prizes for various things over the weekend. A long time ago the club had some debate over what should be done this year and I don't remember the outcome. It is highly unlikely, however, that there would be a prize for "Best Xsara", as the Committee can't ever be sure how many of particular models will attend these days. Some times it's been done on an era-type basis, (personally I think this stinks, as Ds always get lumped in the same eras as Gs and I've never seen a good G beat a good D), but again I don't remember what the call was this year.

I think we are attending next Sunday morning's festivities approve

Put me down for 2 dance dance

What are my chances of a drive of a D &/ or a Traction on the day

Tempted to drive the Pug up for comfort reasons but the Berlingo should do the trick fine.
The climb up to Maleny will put hairs on it's chest eek!

    GG

We will be convoying up with a very nice Big 6 belonging to Bill Schenk. It is of course black and is the one featured in a story about Bill in the Chevrons this year.

He would be happy to give you a ride.(I would expect)
