Default A Victoria Cruise - That has no affiliation with AussieFrogs what so ever.

We oughta organise a Peugeot/Citroen/Renault cruise soon, in vic (melb) possible places to go: Great Ocean Road, Black Spur, wherever, but there would have to be some sort of BBQ/Meet at some point.

You guys know the deal with cruises. I think it would be good.

Let me know what you think..

    OMG how ace.

Great Ocean Rd is the best option as far as the best drive is concerned, however, every other person in Vic thinks that too, hence the long tailbacks of cars.

    somewhere a bit less congested??

How about Mt Macedon? Could like cruise up to the top, come back through Woodend, Daylesford maybe?? The road from the turn-off to the Big cross is as twisty and turny as you want.

    Icon3 Dandenong Ranges?

    Sounds like a plan!
    Dandenong Ranges?
Heaps of places for a bbq up there. Not too congested either
    (depending when you go)

Some corners are a little rough, but, it's mainly a great drive!
Very nice area and not too out of the way.
(Great ocean road would be great too, but don't really wanna drive
    all the way down Geelong)

    Cheers

I grew up in the Dandenongs if you need to know a good route. I should say though that I hated weekend driving while I living up there; one tourists after another. Drove me absolutely nuts I swear.

That's right, so long as it is not sanction by Aussie Frogs or its affiliates there is no problem.

Unless they're allowed to do it in Sydney and not down here

Guy, so long as someone is clearly taking it upon themselves to organise it and inform everyone of the route and guidelines then we have no issue. ie "I am organising a drive to XX and am wondering if anyone would like to join me. Only mature, sensible drivers are welcome as we will be driving on public road and all normal road rules apply."

    Any queries just PM me.

    Here is a suggestion, guys,

The Go Karting day that is coming up, usually starts at around 3.00pm.

We could have a morning cruise around Mt Macedon, then a BBQ at Woodend (or any other suitable location) then off to the karts in Deer Park?

The BBQ idea went well before the Go Karts last time....when we finally located some BBQ's that worked

    hi guys,

just so that others undertsand, as others have posted earlier, we can organise a cruise, just as long it isnt affiliated with aussiefrogs. what is meant by this, is yeah, we can organise a frign cruise here in the forum, again, just dont name it or call it an aussiefrogs cruise! u gets?

i'd be interested in another cruise - kinda like richards idea of holding the cruise, before heading out to the go kart track later mid arvo, on the same day.

weve previously had a cruise at and near the great ocean rd, and well yeah it was good, much more of a relaxed drive compared to other cruises, but the drive down to geelong and beyond was a killer. it does have a few good roads, but its all over too quickly!

nonetheless, im up for a cruise.

maybe we could suggest a few places and then have a vote
to see where we end up? I haven't been on a frog cruise before,
so, I don't really mind where we go.

No offence, but the 'policy' regarding drives seems to differ all the time.

    Only last month, we had.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Sure - go for a drive with friends, but please, don't organise it on a public forum such as Aussiefrogs.

It's a bit confusing to say the least. There was a more relaxed policy (so it seemed, given the lack of comment on one of the Sydney drives a few months ago - and previous drives have just had the 'don't tag it an AF event'), then I organise a drive in July and these various posts come up, and now it seems we're back to the earlier views?

Can we have a definitive answer on this from Gerry? In the past, we have had slightly different views from various parties, for example Brad you tend to be a little less restrictive (ie. organise it, but it's not an AF event), where as I notice Derek is far more restrictive (the posts basically are all a point blank - don't post it on AF at all).

As someone who has organised the vast majority of drives in Melbournee with AF members, it'd be nice to have a definitive answer - at the moment, it seems to be 'flipping and flopping'

Was at Walhalla on the weekend and there was some kind of English Car Club cruise there. Absolutely awesome vehicles like a few Aston Martins, beautiful cars. I was surprised that the Jags made it there without breaking down

Made me wish it was a French car club Nice venue for a drive, pity it is like 2.5 hours from Melbourne.

But that aside, I am dead set keen.

Sorry i havent been on people...Been busy busy busy with work.

Yeah ok i say we vote on a place to go so we oughta get a list going:
so far: Mt Macedon, Wilsons Prom, Grampians would be cool but who could be bothered, Great Ocean Road (traffic and been done to death) We could go down Gippsland and check out the Hillclimb in morwell, I dont know, everyone throw in some ideas of places and we will vote. BBQ at some point is essential. It should be fun as. Come on people lets get busy. We also need an initial meet point, somewhere nice and central, i dont know where people live but i reckon the Chadstone Myer MegaMart on the corner of Waverly and Warrigul Roads is a good meet point we have the South Eastern basically right next to it and you also have dandenong road pretty much right there too.

Apparently we can organise here as long as the cruise has no
    affiliation with Aussiefrogs.

Well call it the Escargo, happy-peaceful drive day!

Dandenongs - that's my vote. (somewhere not too far like Geelong)
    not too fussed though.

I'll be away from the 10th to the 17th of September. Any time other
    than that suits me.
