Default AF Melb Go Kart Challenge Rd 3

    G'day Guys and Gals,

Well it's been a few months and I am just putting out a few feelers to see if anyone is interested in another Go Kart day.

The previous 2 have both been great, and besides, I feel like whipping all you Pug driving girls again...

I think Ace Karts has extended their track as I heard an advert on MMM the other day, say that it was "bigger and better" etc...so I might go and have a look in the next week or so...

I was thinking of a date sometime towards the end of september or perhaps early october (between footy and cricket seasons would be good for those who play either game)

Let me know if there is any interest and we'll get the ball rolling..

Yeah im up for some fun again Richard
Come on Derek you know you want to, even without Justin there to hold your hand

Only thing is will they have enough material to make an acekarts hat big enough for Richard when he wins again?

Like we said last time might need you to tow a citroen behind you, might do the trick, and actually have a citroen driver rock up for once.

    Oi!

Don't worry, when someone's got "Going for AFTOTY 2004" in their signature (AFTOTY=AussieFrogs Traveller Of The Year), you know they're just itching to go

He's gonna have to work a bit harder for this AFTOTY thing though

Actually, I have an easier solution.

The Go Karts are powered by Honda (sorry, no VTEC )

Now, all we have to do, is give Richard the CitroŽn Go Kart

    DNF, DNF, DNF...

Let's go. Back third of the pack, here I come

Justin, you could really wrap up the AFTOTY award by flying down from Sweden just for the go-karts.

Geez you lucky guys in Melb gets some good facilities! 80 km/hr hire karts, geezus!

Would it be held on a weekend? More importantly, uhmm am I invited? I was planning a weekend trip to Melbourne with the missus sometime but haven't set a date yet so hmm maybe I'll be able to err arrange it so our trip just happens to fall around the same time as your Kart day.
    Take the long way home....

    hi guys,

    count me in, also.

how bout we aim for a date closer to the end of september? sooner rather than later, i say.

weve never had any problems re: number of participants so my guess is we wont have any concerns, for this round. if anything, we may not have enough available karts for all interested parties, so errr post now of your firm and absolute availablity to secure a kart!

dont be left out and dissappointed!!!

it gets bigger and better every round!

wouldnt mind goin the acekarts route, again, considering theyve extended, re-laid, and change track configurations.

that track on hume hwy down near the ford factory is pretty ordinary, actually. do they have lap-timing systems and an organised race menu like acekarts?

    cheers,

I am definitely in. any weekend would suit me. asap I say. How many people can these places cater for though? The ones I have bee to only let about ten carts on at a time. Who ever is organising this I want in! Send me a pm or email or whatever. I will be checking this thread most days! Can I get a spot even though I am a new member? This would be my first AF event. I canít wait!

The weekend of 2/3 October would be GREAT, but any time from mid-September onwards should be ok.

As I said earlier I am good to go any time provided I have notice. Donít know if there are many others in my position but the mid semester brake from uni is the last week of September. From the 27th to the 4th of October so around then would be good. But as I say I will make time any day!

if you dont know what all the fuss is about, heres a link to AFMEL go-kart round 2:

    AF GoKart Championship Rd 2

a poll will be held to find a suitable date, in the next few days (right, richard? ).

i vote now that we hold round 3 at Ace-Karts in ardeer, again, so there is not any stuffing around - its hard enough finalising a date!

please state now of any objections, otherwise the location has now been decided - please lock it in, eddie!

who else has a confirmation? first in first served.
