    Default Club Plate Drives- ACT

The Renault Owners Club of Canberra has started club plate drives on the 4th Sunday of each month. These runs are aimed at historically registered cars, but all French cars are welcome! The first two have been arranged, looking for suggestions for more destinations.

Sunday July 25, meet at Regatta Point National Capital Exhibition carpark (off Commonwealth Ave), for a 11am departure to Lanyon Homestead. Here will be the opportunity for a coffee or lunch, to visit the homestead or Nolan Gallery. You can then continue the drive through Tharwa and Cotter, if you wish to take your car further.

Sunday August 22, meet at Shell Service Station near EPIC on Nothbourne Ave, Watson for a 11am departure to Bushranger Hotel at Collector for lunch. Please make a booking with me for lunch by August 15 for this run as the hotel will need to know numbers.

Please contact me for any further information.

First Club Plate Run went well on Sunday. There were two R16, an R12, an R8G, P404, P406 (the modern ring-in) and a Magna (who kept to the back of the pack). We had a great drive to Lanyon, Tidbinbilla (with lunch at Moon Rock Cafe at the Tracking Station), Cotter etc. Some great winding roads and lots of changes to the landscape since the 2003 bushfires. Some staff from the French Embassy were at the Lanyon Homestead when we arrived and they said that seeing our classic French cars had made their day.

Next drive is to Collector and lunch at the Bushranger Pub on Sunday August 22. Will need numbers to book lunch, so please reply if you plan to come.
