Default Brisbane Drinks - Weekend of 10/11 July

    Hi all,

Well, as some of you already know (and most of you would have guessed?) I'm off to Brisbane for the French Car Day after a bit of encouragement from gibgib and the Brisbane froggers.

I know I'll see lots of you on the Sunday at the FCD, but it's been suggested the Calamari and Corona at GPO could be good. I don't know, given I've never been there, but it sounds good to me.

Yeah, it's nice on a hot day (sure was back in Feb), and at only $5 a serve, there's nothing to complain about

Maybe a steak and beer at the Brekky Creek. At least there is parking, and a few tables can be put together if we had the numbers. Not as cheap, but a good feed, and you can only eat so many chips and calamari rings.

Parking's no problem for the GPO, just need to know numbers. No one will be getting their car out if they've had too much though I'm all for either day 'I think'

    Hey guys,

I'm in as long as it's during the day. Have to go along to fiancee's friend's party 10 July. They've changed it to $5 calamari, chips and Tooheys Extra Dry. Still a good deal.

Oh, and if anyone's coming out to the V8's at Queensland Raceway this weekend come look for me at the sports betting tent at the entrance of merchandise alley. I'm running the screens which display the odds and will be heading down to Winton for the next round as well. I'm guessing there won't be any AF events occurring on that weekend even remotely close to Winton?

    Cool.

Ok, meeting at the GPO hotel, Ann St Foritude Valley. 12.30pm. Cal, Neil and I may be there a tad later as we have an MX5 run in the morning. I can open the work carpark or people to park, however obviously not until I get there. Street parking will be impossible durring the day as the Valley Fiesta is on all weekend.

Kings carpark, next to the GPO is only about $6 for the day.

Nick, I really have no idea what time as we are leaving at 9.30am and I don't know how fast these MX5 boys are

I'll give you a call when I have a better idea of time so you can meet me at the roller door, which is in Winn street running left off Ann St when coming into the city.

That's not going to work. People are going to need to know what time before Saturday. Just make it noon. Brad, we can just bail from the 5 guys whenever we feel like it and rocket over to GPO. I imagine some people will need to wash cars ect on Saturday after lunch, so if we make it early like 12, it should work for everybody. I'll have to remain sober, unlike last time.

Sounds good Cal. Midday it is.

It shouldn't take us more than 2 hours to get up Glorious and back.

    Hi guys,

I'll be there - not sure if I'll come for lunch at 12 or just stop in to say gday and a quick sometime (not too late) after that.

I'll just try my luck with parking in Kings!

    See you there

P.S. if I put the Pug on the grass in the "display" on Sunday, will it be impossible to leave early?

Just poped over to the GPO for lunch and the $5 deal is off...AGAIN On again, off again.....

Anyway, there are heaps of other things on the menu, just not that good deal. I still say we meet there and take a look at the menu. The whole Valley should be going off all weekend for the fiesta. We could also go up into the mall where there are heaps of cafe's and pubs. Will be very crowded up there though so tough to find anyone.

As it stands, midday at the rollerdoors which are down a small laneway, left off Winn Street, which is left off Ann Street. We'll be parking under the big white building (743) which is the PMM Group building.

I've been off work sick with the flu for 2 days. I'll probably still come along for a short time tomorrow, but if I don't, you'll know why.

Yeah right! All I did was mention it & it was a done deal.

There's enough excitement for me for one weekend with the FCD on Sunday so I will be giving this a miss.

    See you all Sunday.
