not sure if i can make the 14th.

Anyway, spoke with the guy at W/Field and mondays are usually quiet - track to ourselves.

thurdays (like fridays) are busy and attended by many "rice" nuts.

Chris ..... ready for your S16 to get wiped by a 1.3 ltr Swift!

I dont think there will be much of the beating happening. I just gained 30+kg's of a rollcage in a Swift. I fully expect times to suffer accordingly.

So Ashley, you in or not?

    Hi Guys,
Put me down as well..will there be any other Clio Sports there..I dont want to have to lead all the time.. whip

A few questions from others who are 1st timers and thinking of coming:
    1/Are P platers OK..
2/Do you need a current road license (i.e.-can a disqualified driver participate)
3/Are there any spies from dealers/manufacturers that may jot down your number plate. Hence a few guys are scared of getting "busted" and voiding their warranty. disappro

    Thanks guys

    P platers are fine.
You must have a current and legal road license though.
If worried about "spies", although ive never seen any, then ill lend you a screw driver on the day and we can remove your plates altogether.
By the way its laps, not racing so get used to having me pass you......lol.
    Its a lot of fun.
    cheers chris

    LOL excuses already Chris!

I should be bringing down the new 205, the engine is the sweetest thing I have ever heard!

New shocks will be put in next weekend but the new guard will not be painted.

Will use this session to shake the car down and see if there any issues with it.

Anybody know where I can hire a cheap trailer, one that can travel to wakefield safely?

Chris your dedication to the Pug will be rewarded by a sweet braking pug at next wakefield.

If Parry indeed got the MI16 engine fitted it would have been the quickest conversion in history I think. Did you do it Parry?

    Guys,
I'm definite for the day (too much hassle to re-arrange another work day off anyway!)

Can a passenger do laps without paying monies?
We may have a 02 MX5 as well but not sure...

    blush

It's good to see so many fired up, and ready for a days enjoyment in their beloved machines.
For those of little or no experience of track driving, a word of advice. You are not RACING, it is a practice session, which translates to a "LEARNING or TRAINING Session" Do not try to mix it with your mates, and keep a close eye on your rear view mirror.
As it is a practice day i assume there is no timing available, if possible get someone to time your efforts. Just because you passed a mate dosen't always mean you're faster.
Basically Drive as fast as you're comfortable with and remember the whole of the track is for you to use. Over time you will learn the fastest way round the corners & the last possible point for braking into each corner, usually there are braking markers on major corners, use them as a reference as you experiment with braking, these markers will have numbers eg. 200,150,100,50, usually black on white boards.
Remember "You" are there for a ""you & the car againt the clock"" FUN session not to amuse anyone or give them an Ego boost because they beat ya.

Similar days are Held here in Vic, at Winton raceway & if a member of the gippsland CC any day the Hillclimb track is not booked, is a potential Free practice day, I often use it for testing even though it's a 130Km drive.

Wish i could get there, Have a great day.

    David,

No. Any person going onto the track, regarless where he sits, must have an arm-band. Each arm-band is gived to a person for a price of $80 (+$35 one off yearly Wakefield licence fee, or CAMS licence is accepted).
Each person in the car MUST have a helmet fitted, long sleeved clothing and non synthetic shoes (leather upper joggers are OK).

Anyone without a valid drivers licence cannot get registered for the day.

Damien has raised some very valid points ... again wink . According to the stewards, the only accident during an open practice day at Wakefield this year occured when two friends (subie WRX and Skyline) were playing chicken going into the corner at the end of the straight. Both cars got towed to Sydney,

Use your mirrors, if somone is on your rear bumper they are probably faster, let them through and everyone is happy and you dont have to sweat if they will get impatient and do silly things trying to pass you.
Be courteous, and hopefully other will be to you too. Above all you are there to enjoy the day. And dont push past YOUR and YOUR CAR's limits.

    cheers
    Voytek

btw According to Wakefield calendar, its still on.
