    Default Brisbane Meet

Hi all, It's been a while online for me so I must have missed alot. Mainly due to a new job and also the fact i lost my password.
Anyway, as I haven't met anyone in AF in person yet, I was wondering if we could have a meet for coffee or something at some stage?? What does everyone prefer?

On the topic (or off) of cheap Coronas. $2 between 5.30 and 7.30 at the Regatta. Other premiums for the same price

Anything slated again? I'm almost over showing off my new speedlines now, and am ready to settle into getting drunk some weekend.

    Hi new-pug,

you just missed out on the ANZAC Monday drive, and it ran past your door. Five of us gathered a Keperra and did a drive out through Samford, over Mt Glorious to Wivenhoe dam. Then back again but via Mt Nebo.

There was two 180s, and three 138s.

Keep an eye out at 206GTi.net for the next one, maybe the June long weekend.
    Cheers Simon

must be a term the normal Gti drivers use so they can feel special like the gti180's.

i have never heard of it before... but i am assuming thats the HP of a Gti

its members nite at GPO upstairs tonite if anyone has forgotten.
u need your black members card, and they are having free drinks for an hour (maybe 8-9? cant remember exactly). i told my mate i would help move furniture, so i cant make it

regatta are weird with their prices. there's stupidly cheap drink like that, but then they snub you with that clubhouse card on most other times. too crowded mostly anyways. go GPO and milkbar!

using the term GTi refers to many pugs, 505, 205, 206. And also other brands like the original VW. Even the Japs with Suzuki.

As cars from Europe are currently being referred to by their horse power - Ford, MG, Renault - since the introduction of the 180 the 206 GTi is now referred to as the 138 (103kw). If they had kept the RC tag as in France then there would be no need to refer to it as the 138.

Thought you must have disappeared because you sold the Pug and bought a non Frenchie. Haven't seen you around here since that run we did earlier in the year.

Whens the next meet? I finally have my GTI6 on the road and have not seen another GTI6 in Brisbane. I am keen to meet the other pug enthusiasts in Brisbane.

We went for beers last Saturday at GPO. On Sunday was the French Car Day at UQ, so I would say it will be at least a month before we get together again. Unless you want to run at the sprints at QR. Quite a number of Aussiefroggers going to that tomorrow.

    Cheers,

    Cal.
