Default Time for another Sydney/NSW gathering

It's been a while since we've gotten together for a yarn, so time to start a thread.

We've got Easter and Anzac day in April, so that leaves April fairly bare of free weekends. So here are the most appropriate dates for me. You all can work around my schedule, as I'm not organising something that I'm not going to!

Considering we would all really like to catch up with Darren and congratulate him and D on their upcoming child. I think we'll lock in May the 1st.

Would a BBQ like last time be good?

OK, we'll arrange a BBQ again. Perhaps not so much food as we'll be transporting this with us somewhere. Anyone want to recommend a nice BBQ site?

There's a bunch of free BBQs at Olympic Park (I used to live there, so know some out of the way spots) and would be plenty of parking. Otherwise we can go somewhere up in the mountains, such as Mt Tomah.

Around $5 a head OK? If we go to Mt Tomah they'll be an entry fee.

Mods, can you close the poll and edit the thread title, adding "1st of May (Saturday)"?

    Thanks

Sounds good! I am keen to catch up but guess what...

I don't have any wheels until the 25th May

So I may not be able to make the 1st May meet. But if we have.. hrmmm say a 1st of June meet.. I am in!

Maybe we can have a June meet/BBq anyway, I can organise it. WIll also be celebrating my One Year anniversary on this Forum hehehe

Anyway, if I *can* get a ride, I may see you all at the BBQ on May 1st

    G'day ppl,

MY 4 & MY 4_girl are LOCKED IN at this stage!

That's my RDO w/end. So it's looking mighty fine to me.

In regards to the lack of SYDNEY responses - i had no idea that this thread was here, simply because it's title doesn't stand out to grab ya! Can i suggest that you put SYDNEY and BBQ as the first part of the thread title, to enable others to tell what the thread is about with ease?

Maybe a STICKY note or two in other parts of the forum also, to allow others to see that this is being organised.

Also - Lincoln and anyone else could possibly alter their signatures to promote the BBQ/Celebration for Darren's fatherhood! And have a link for this thread...!

    C'mon Sydney, let's do it!

    See ya's

    G'day Gem, welcome to Aussiefrogs.

I haven't actually been out on the track personally. But the guys here have now and again, and from what i hear track days at the creek aren't cheap. You need a rather large group of people and even then, things are quite pricey.

In the past members have attended wakefield raceway for a much cheaper day out.

I don't mean to put your idea down, because there is plenty of interest on this forum for track days.

It just requires a little more thought and organisation. However, this day out is also partially to congratulate a well-respected Aussiefrogs member, Darren who's to be a father in 8mths time.

I personally think a BBQ is much easier to organise, and much more open for talking in person amoungst members. It's a great way to meet the new members who haven't been to an AF event also.

So may i suggest that for this particular event we keep it simple & maybe discuss plans for a seperate track day?

Hope you can make it along for the BBQ matey See ya!
