I am free any sunday bar the 1st Sunday of September.

    And I am keen wink

I think it should be a nice cruise through some hill climbs or nice twisty roads, be they mountain or coast, I don't mind.

I have one particular road in mind (McCarrs Creek road...I think Deka knows this one...), but it usually is way too busy on a Sunday to go for a cruise, only a short road too.

So up the coast, or out to the mountains?

I think McCarr's Creek Rd is a bit short for an AF drive. We have normally done anywhere between 200 and 400km... meet at 9am and take it from there.

Mind you... I did drive down McCarr's Creek Rd in a 2 tonne truck the other day, and it was a fun drive even in that, which has... the handling of a jacked up billycart.

Make it on the 23rd and you can come and spend some time at Eastern Creek and then go for a drive from there.

    how about late August?

I think the coast is a good idea too. Maybe a cruise up the old pacific Hwy and go to the central coast? Maybe lunch in Terrigal or something? Then back to Sydney.

I drove my car up McCarrs creek road today wink was nice and lonely at midday on a thursday
    dance
But It's a bit hard to incorporate that road into a cruise, also it's too crowded on a Sunday with Cyclists and Families around.

But I am really keen for anywhere?

Who would be keen for a Sydney Crusie?
    So far it may be:

    Mr 206
    DeKa (maybe?)
    east_bay_punk
    renn_205
    parry

I also know that SJL was really keen for a cruise and so was Tekkie I think he said at the FC Day he is always keen for a cruise... Maybe Xqisid was keen too, can't remember.

    so who's in?

    what date is best?

    Lets discuss a good route....

    We do in Victoria

They're invaluable, especially when the scout up front lets you know about what traffic is on the other side of the road - makes overtaking on the otherside of the road much safer.

I'd be up to coming along if I can get a ride or have Tonia come along in the GTi6. Perhaps my flatmate can come in his 307 XSi.

Where's Tekkie, Chris, Brenno, Dave, Darren? The old school boys wink

Let's show these Mexicans how to do a cruise again, guys, we've been MIA for quite a while here. Let's not end up with a 20 page thread talking about it.

We could just do the last circuit, Eastern Creek up over the mountains, across Bell's Line to Windsor, up to Wisemans for lunch, across the punt to Spencer and Mangrove Mountain, up to Peat's Ridge and back up the Old Pac. That was a great day.

Tekkie and I will both be competing at Eastern Creek so would love to see you guys, but wont be able to come for the drive. Maybe you can all meet at Eastern Creek at 9am and then go from there. There is no entry charge to the event and you can park your car in the pits.

14th or 21st should be fine.

    28th I'll be in WA I expect
I vote to do the last big drive, as GTI124 suggested. I did it last time in the C3, and whilst it was lots of fun, I think my 306 would be even more fun on those roads.

Still, you've got to give it to us for enthsiasm.

Everytime we have a "cruise", we have a thread merely days later planning the next one. Of course, there's always a difference between thinking about something and doing it wink

September would be better for me but late August should also be fine. The later the better as there will be more chance the 205 will be finished.

The last cruise was a great day as everyone mentioned. Very enjoyable. I'd be happy to organise that route again and do maps etc as I did last time if we chose to go that path.

And we didn't encounter that much traffic either.

That sounds like a good idea

are we going to create a road book complete with tulips and miles count? Have you used CB/UHF radios on past Sydney cruises?

The best date for me is Sunday 14th September.

The rally I am going on Finishes on Sunday Sept' 7th, so I won't be able to make and AF cruise on that date.

We've always had a few (macquered, MYT205 and myself) but not enough to be truely useful in a convoy sense. Hopefully next time most people have them.

We use UHF radios, not CB. The ~$99 special from Dick Smith (Uniden brand) does the job well.

Well i dont know if ill be tagging along with deka, but either way i'll give him my radio which will add an extra one! They are pretty cool anyway, a courier company seems to use channel 1 and they are always rather humorous with their attacks on one of the guys! Its nearlly worth the $99 just for that!

September probably suits me as well, anytime.

Plus Linc and breno owe me a few wildlife spottings :p dance
