The Club's Museum of Fire tour and picnic this month will have the additional interest of a lion-up to mark the tenth anniversary of the Peugeot 306.

So if you have a Peugeot 306, please bring it along and add it to the line.

The Museum of Fire is on Castlereagh Road at Penrith and has very comprehensive displays.

Join fellow club members on a tour of the museum and enjoy a picnic on the lawns on March 14.

Arrive about 10.30am, the tour starts at 11am and will take about two hours. Costs are $7.00 for adults, $4.50 for children.

Bring your picnic needs. The cafe has closed.

Let more know ASAP (I have to give the museum the numbers by March 1.

    Derek.

sounds like a normal PCCNSW event

shame really but numbers at social events have never been a strong point for the NSW pug club

If you want to do that you have to be a financial member. I've got an app form in my car if you want one.

do they get any more than 1/2 a dozen cars turn up ?

or do they still have the same old "oh it's too far to go" excuse ?

always amazed me that a car club for a car that is a drivers car and no one in the club ever want to go anywhere in them

do they still organise weekends away ?

The PCCV has better turnout, but it is a larger club. I believe we're the largest Pug club in Australia and apparently the oldest Pug club in the world.

Generally though, the people who turn up to the social events tend to be older, whereas the younger ones will go to the motorsport type events. Having said that, there are good few ones still young at heart that'll participate in motorsport which is great.

I guess the young ones can just turn up to an Aussiefrogs event. Gave away a few stickers today at the show.

Well, I've only been to three PCCNSW things - the motorkhana training day (3 cars), a meeting (not many ppl compared to a Citroen Car Club meeting) and the event on Sunday where 8 (maybe 9?) cars turned up.

I'd imagine the "oh it's too far to go" excuse is the one? I don't know though. I thought half the fun in these things was driving there anyway!

They're organising a weekend away in Bathurst sometime soon.

there used to be a group of us in the club that organised weekends away and it seems that since we all went away from the club the social calender and attendence to social outings really dropped away

in '88 we even organised the first of the 03 weekends and had the largest number of 03's to be gathered in the country

it's sad to know that a club that is now in it's 2nd guise has trouble getting it's members to participate in events

i can remember weekends at hill end where we would have at least a dozen cars turn up or more

same with weekends at young, wee jasper, joadja, etc etc

i can even remember easter pageants where there were pugs as far as the eye could see but the last one i went to at dubbo was very dissapointing in as far as numbers

there used to be a great number of sporting events but the people that used to organise them have moved on and the events seemed to have dropped off somewhat

i know about the weekend at bathurst coming up

i keep track of what they are doing but i can't see myself becoming a member anytime soon

when the 205 was released in the country they were offering free membership to 205 buyers to try and get some numbers up

anyway that's enough ranting from me for now
