Default Open Track Day 9th June Marulan

Im attending a track day at Marulan Driver Training centre this Monday the 9th ( public holiday ) of June.

Essentially its the same as a speed off the streets day etc. Ive never been so cannot comment on the running of the day or what the track is like.

Apparently there are 10 minute sessions ( track looks shortish, great for learning I guess? ) and your put into classes with speed and experience levels.

Gates open at 8 with a walk of the track from 845, track opening at 9am. 110$ for the day if you have a competition licence otherwise a 40$ licence can be purchased on the day which lasts 12 months. ( 150 all up not bad? )

Ill be going with a couple of mates down to my Dads place in Bowral on the Sunday night to break up the driving. If anyone would like to join us on the drive down on Sunday we have some accommodation available. ( glass of red and a fire anyone? )

Please show interest below. This seems like it would be a cheap and fun day for someone wanting to get into track days or just have some fun.

It's a fun little track, but it is small - especially compared with Wakefield.

Unfortunately I'm working nights Sun and Mon

    Ok great.

I checked it out on you tube. Seems pretty small. Few little sections that seems to have pretty small entry and exit windows. Need to be accurate to be quick.

    Will report back tiesday!

    Thanks for the feedback!

Gary Willmington (who owns the track) usually does the track walk and it's highly recommended. He seems to know his stuff. Bring an umbrella for the walk - it's always raining.

The last track day I attended there a pair of young blokes turned up in thongs. Needless to say they had to drive to a shop and buy real shoes before they were allowed back. You have to wonder, sometimes

Yes, the thong remains a shame.

I'd like to go but too many outgoings all 'round. The Berlingo has potential for being very entertaining on a track.

Good day out. Technical little track. Great for a 205! Lots of little challenges.

Would I go again? If there was more of a crew and some sort of timing available then yes!

Have a look at Harry's laptimer in app stores - I have it on an iphone but I'm guessing you could get it for android.
Pretty sure they have marulan as one of the downloadable tracks. There may be others suitable also.

I haven't as yet used it in anger yet though so can't comment on how well it works or not.
