    G'day,
a great day had by all. Apart from a dodgy battery, a big thank you to the pushers, and a somewhat deflated tyre, 30 lbs/sq.in. I managed to travel home.

I think it was a pretty strong turnout.

Lots to see and do - with plenty of tyres to kick. It was nice to catch up with some fellow froggers and some fellow club people too.

    Thanks for organising it, BIGRR

To anyone wondering about showing up another time, it is not a cliquey gathering, no in-jokes or gossiping, just a chance for a good chat and possibly to see cars you haven't.

I'm seriously threatening to swap the heater core on BigRR's 306 next time. He thinks I can't do it in four hours.

FRENCH CAR OWNERS MONTHLY TYRE KICKING DAY

I have been hanging around car clubs for about 30 years. I am a member of 2 car clubs (3 counting Aussiefrogs). I for years attended monthly meetings.
During my club membership days I found that the formal part of the car club general meetings BORING! (Probably necessary, though).
The really enjoyable parts of the meetings are the pre and post formal meeting “TYRE KICKING”.

Sydney/NSW Froggy car owners NOW hold a once a month very informal “TYRE KICKING” gathering.

Regional, interstate “froggers” along with all age groups and sexes are welcome.
No committees and no memberships are required.

The “TYRE KICKING” will be held every 3rd Sunday of the month , commencing nominally around 10:30am.

The “TYRE KICKING” should continue through till all, tyre kicking, parts exchanging, information gathering/sharing, boot sales, spruiking, skiting and general “B___S____ing” is complete.

Attendees may arrive and leave at any time at their leisure, attendees may continue on to a walk, a bike ride, a river ferry trip, a meal, adrive, a drink, an engine overhaul or whatever!

Anything formal along with any “hooning” shall be frowned upon.
THE INUAGARAL “FRENCH CAR OWNERS TYRE KICKING DAY”

(Was) Sunday 16th March 2014 started at around 10:30am.

Next “FRENCH CAR OWNERS TYRE KICKING DAY”

    Sunday 17th MAY, 2015
    starting around 10:30 am

    LOCATION*:
Newington Reserve business car park at the north western corner of Holker Street and Slough Avenue, Silverwater 2128
    .
    (Sydney Olympic Park area)
(only 300m south of where the French Car Day is held).
(Enter from southern lane of Holker St or from Slough Avenue)

    *33degrees 49minutes 53seconds SOUTH - 151degrees 03minutes 08seconds EAST.
*I know the gathering place may not please all, though it is central for most (gives us westies a go), is a sizable well maintained and lawned area that should not be parked out, has amounts of shade, toilets (rough) and under cover awnings for rain, a Free gas barbeque, nearby Newington shopping center (within 500m), a nearby river, walks, playgrounds and pushbike tracks for mum and the kids (1km). You may also wish to arrive by ferry (3km) (very pleasant transport).

Note: Any excuse not to attend will be accepted!

If you call in someone will hopefully see you there!

I'm "interested" but not in being a guinea pig :p I'll try to come along but will more be a chat about how you can do it in that short a time.

I'll be heading to Forbes in August and the thought of not having a heater has prompted the interest

I've made a start on the radiator replacement as well. Have verified I can get one, and I've also ordered (from Germany) a bottom radiator hose. Top hose is like rocking horse poo, but something can be fabricated (or I just use the original). It is starting to show signs of leaking though, which I guess isn't surprising after 19 years....

The secret to quick heater core swaps is not talking! Also to have prepared beforehand, the matrix sectional joint with a little Threebond 1211, and to have on hand Moroday Econoseal foam for the airbox junction seals which crumble to nothing.

'94 means much of the dash trim may be made from "crumble-ite" as pioneered on both 405 and 605, which is therefore a risk!

Looks like I'm out. Got a love job that's blown out on time, another at mates' rates that is chewing up hours, and an unexpected big hit in the wallet.

Sadly i only flew in from O/S early this morning, so when I turned up at 1300 for show and tell I was saddened by there being no one to show and nothing to tell.

Oh well. I hope it was good early

A very cold "Tyre Kicking" was held today.

    8 participants in all.

A single cylinder 500cc Pug turned up (see pics), also a 505 Pug with too many cylinders.

A 208 GTi with still only 1000km on the clock.

A motorkhana Pug 306 Gti & Peter T on his push bike that did not look French (we had to raid the industrial bins to find Peter T some warm cloths).

I did see a Yellow Reno driving around in a nearby street appearing lost.

Hope the next "Tyre Kicking" is warmer.

Default French car owners monthly tyre kicking day

Glad to see my Made in USA bike made it past the editor. A good day, despite the cold and always good to put a face to a name.

The heater started working on the climb back up to Castle Hill.
