Fighting might break out! How do you decide the percentage of an SM, which is French or Italian? Where is the line drawn on designer coachwork, Peugeot commissioned the Italian's to sculpt the shapes of the 403/404/504/604/505/405/406 i.e. from the 1950's to the '90's. Iconic cars that are bi-partisan. And I'll just mention Bugatti to feed the flames! All of this in good humour, a picnic basket brimming with the best produce from each country and washed down with a suitable grape juice. (I could mention the 'Pinot white' twins but that's a punch up on other forums...) COL please ensure lots of photos. Brendan.

Beautiful surroundings, nice to see the Gorge a little less "full" than recent past too.

A very nice display. Location is quite sublime....haven't been to Tasmania for many decades and was but a small child then. Next holiday in the planning. Now to get the 504 trip worthy. The Fiat 500 wagon looks just a wee touch forlorn. Brendan.

Below is copied from an email I sent to the membership of the FCCT prior to W&F; I haven't seen it since & do not know if it's sold. Peter.

"1) My route into Launceston is past the Liberty service station at Legana on the West Tamar. For sale there is a yellow 504 for $5,000. Seems a lot for a '77, carby, 4 headlight beastie but it is claimed to have only done sixty something thousand kms; which changes things a bit. Looks tidy enough & if anyone was interested, then I imagine that <snip> could carry out a detailed inspection.

I'm not in the market for one but I have fond memories of fanging an injected 504 in the 70s & I gather from conversations with some in the club that my only major complaint - the stupidly slow steering ratio - is relatively easily fixed by way of retrofitting the faster 505 rack.

Seems worth a look for anyone after a 504 (or another 504) & no, I have no "interest" in the sale; I was just passing. I did put one of our club business cards on it & recommended it coming to Frogs & Wogs. And I do have the seller's mobile # from the signage if anyone wants it."

The yellow 504 is the one on Gumtree. The green 504 is an Lti. I wish I could have been there, and we could have had two green 504s on display. Maybe next year!
