Default Sydney All French Car Day 2013

14 July at Silverwater Park. Same venue as last year, adjacent to the south west corner of Silverwater Bridge. This is the date for the All French Car Day this year. All cars of a French heritage are invited to attend. Trade displays are welcome. The rules for the concourse have been strengthened: for best car on the day, cars must be eight years old and the owner must be a member of a car club of Australia or New Zealand. Any questions to Ross Berghofer on 0409 504 551. My earlier notification of this event has moved to a sticky - see above.

So if your car isn't 8 years old, you have no chance in the concours?

French bred motor cycles are welcome, or members of a motor cycle club, but we have not seen a motorcycle in many years. But remember it is a car day.

There is a category and trophy for moderns - cars built less than eight years ago. But it will not be eligible for the outright top trophy on the day. The individual clubs will select cars for final judging in more than eight years and less than eight years.

I dont think we have enough rules, regulations, beards and elbow patches to be considered a car club.

Aussie Frogs is not a club and froggers would need to investigate its insurance status. But it is a friendly and helpful internet forum.

The AFCD has always been run as a car club based event to encourage members of officially recognised car clubs to bring and display their cars and meet with other like minded people. So as to prevent "ring ins" turning up and claiming trophies paid for by the clubs and never again participating in events or contributing to the operation of the club/s, it is only fair that cars considered for judging are owned and entered by members of actual car clubs. As Ross correctly indicates, AF is not a club - it is a web based social and help group.

There is nothing to stop an AFer showing up and joining in, you just cannot have your car entered and considered for judging. However if it is a Citroen, I know the CCC of NSW will take your membership form and payment on the day PRIOR to judging commencing.
