I'll be there with the BX and some Peugeots of the 2 wheeled people powered variety.

Now I have a deadline to put my engine back in!

Do'h, I was just thinking Brookfield would be a nice drive from the new house. No matter, all my froggies are off the road :-(

Where are you up to frog, surely a big weekend could see it back together?

Probably would, I'm going to buy some new hoses and other bits and pieces to fit before it all goes back in. You'll have to bring the tzi or the cx!

    Hi KB

I haven't done much car club stuff in the past because I've been busy with my Floride mechanical makeover and body rebuild which kept me in the home workshop nights, weekends etc. for 2-3 years and I am now just becoming involved in club activities. Let's see if they can put up with me

I understand it's the Xantia's 20th, but you gotta bring the GS! I'm going to try to get at least 2 GS's along.

Yes, the reason for taking a Xantia (NB the Xantia run has been moved forward to 4/8 - more details will follow when I've finalised a route), and there's only one person in my household of numerous cars so only one car will go.
I'm sure most attendees will have seen my GS before - it will be good to see some others attend that haven't been at the event before.

    Hi Chris,

At this year's display will we be able to display a few items for sale as well next to the car as in some of the past locations? Or is it a no no?

    Cheers

    Hi, and welcome home

I'm not part of any of the organising committees, so can only suggest this shouldn't be a problem - it never has been a problem in the past. I'll try and confirm before the day for you.

Hope to catch up for a chat on the day

    Cheers

OK, we have tacit approval for car boot sales to proceed
Insurance has complicated things but as long as items for sale are kept within the confines of your motor vehicle, there will not be an issue. Future events may set aside a specific area.

A few changes from previous events

Anyone entering the ground with or without a car can now vote in the 'Peoples Choice' for a small fee of $2.00 this will give them a vote sheet and a ticket in the raffle. You must be in attendance at the prize draw and collect on the day or forfeit.

Shannons are onboard with 3 prizes - there will be 8+ gate prizes and 1 Major Trophy, plus several smaller prizes.

As usual food and drinks are available, plenty of on site parking for those not wishing to display.

The weather is going to be superb, the organisers are looking for a record attendance. A chance to put faces to names and have good French Car chats.

    Cheers
    Chris

A new venue, so I thought I'd give you just a little more info to make life easier when it comes to knowing where to go .

After you've entered from Wynnum Road the car park splits to the left and right. The Murarrie Recreation Ground attracts a variety of users and we need to leave parking for them - please turn right to see our representatives if you are attending this event as an entrant or spectator.

The access we must use to get from the parking area to the display area is a bike track, so please exercise caution regarding other users and follow the directions of representatives to ensure everyone has a safe day. Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, and other French makes will each have a respective area in which to display - Renault, Peugeot and Citroen clubs will each have a representative directing you where to display.

To avoid congestion on departure you will be guided to turn left only onto Wynnum Road. You do not have to travel far before there are several places to turn/ do a U-turn if you need to go west on Wynnum Road to get home.

    See you on Sunday!

Guess I'd best wash some cars tomorrow. I'm going to bring the 505 GTDT Wagon, but should I bring the D8 406 Coupe with the D9 engine, or the nice shiny 508?

Usually judging takes place between 10 and 12.
It will finish about 2.30 - as far as I know the vehicle awards and the numerous gate prizes and club raffles are announced about 2pm.
