Now Andrew - the last thing you need is a vintage tourer - we warned you about this! Although I can just see Jen in a scarf and big hat .

    Is this the one?

Funny you should mention that Andrew, as that is what it's more or less doing. It's now sitting beside Mark McK's Traction. I think he's been badly bitten by the vintage bug after finishing the 5CV.

    Cheers,
    Warwick.

PS. Have you found a use for the 2CV engine yet? The Humbrol transparent 4-cyl engine kit I got for Hamish with the proceeds went down well but ended up costing me more, having then had to buy their model jet engine.

I hope you fully appreciate your new job. It just isn't fair. After all, I saw Shannons before you did! I must have done; I'm older.

Out of that lot I'll have the XK140, the E-Type, the '31 Bentley and the Cooper please. Do you deliver? Do you do lay-by? I don't care that some of them drive like trucks.
When you say Jumbo Goddard, you mean a replica, surely?

    Default Goddard

Isn't Google amazing. What would we do without it?
I just whacked in Jumbo Goddard to see what it found and guess what? If you save a bit harder, the original is actually for sale! Check this out.

And guess what the second listing in Google was? Yep! Our little chat.

Which of your cars are you selling, besides the BX?

Hi, I can tell you that the 15/40 first came out in 1924 at a basic price of 620 pounds sterling 4 cyls and bore stroke of 75x120 3 forward gears and had a wheelbase of 10 feet 6 inches and a track of 4 feet 5 inches and a capacity of 2121ccs. 1925 was the same except the price had come down to 525 pounds. In 1926 it was 475 pounds 78x110 2294 ccs and 9 feet 10 inches long. 1927 it had risen to 485 pounds and that was the last year of production. The link you have been given covers the rest. In 1919 Darracq took over Clement-Talbot and then in 1920 merged with Sunbeam thus creating the Sunbeam Talbot Darracq empire. Interestly depending where the cars raced depended whether they were badged as Sunbeams, Talbots or Darracqs. The one and a half litre team cars (3 of them) which were just about unbeatable in any event had Talbot, Darracq and Talbot-Darracq badges interchanged overnight so probably were the first real example of badge engineering. Sunbeam badges were worn by the land speed record breakers and the GP cars one of which was the first British car and driver (Segrave) to win a Grand Prix (the French Grand Prix). all the best and enjoy your rare car.
