Finally got my new beam in today. Remembering I took my old beam apart at Christmas time to refurbish it but all that failed as the shafts were too fare gone.

This one has 306 arms so it was a case of transfer all the 205 brake lines (removing all the 306 stuff), clean up the calipers, new discs and pads and finally do the swap.

Here's some pics....

All done in a day - even with a nana nap after lunch. I went for Motul dot 5.1 brake fluid.

Excellent.:headbang:

All I have managed is the clean up the block I picked up the same day as you picked up beam, oh and put up a small garden shed for parts.:D

Bit Low

I think it's a bit low....... The back is 20mm lower than the front so I will raise it up next weekend. I have not taken it for a drive yet so can't tell you what it's like. The 306 arms have given me 12mm extra width on each side.

Yea looks a bit low. Are you going to match it to the front?

You will love the feel of the solid bushings and mounts. Feels so much more predictable on the limit. Let me know what you think of the 306 arms too. I think they have more toe in? I drove a mates car the other day who has them, although the initial turn in was not as savage the mid corner stability and grip was pretty impressive. Perhaps not as adjustable or playful but I like to provoke the rear to have a bit of fun which is probably not as fast. I want to replace mine soon and am trying to figure out which way to go.

Also how do you find the 50 profile tyres?

Well I s'pose that's one way to reduce engine noise......... It's raised the rear noise tenfold on a concrete freeway!

My shocks were set a little softer than normal to get some movement in the arms to see if everything is all good. Seems all ok so I will tighten it up this avo after work and if time permits, raise it up a little - then go for a blat up the mountain.

...... may have to take some ear plugs ar pump up the jazz!

i thought fitting the 306 arms only gives you 6mm per side extra track 12mm overall?

I measured hub face to hub face using two straight edges and got 23mm overall

Raised the rear to a better height during the week. Much better now.
