Apart from disc brakes v's drum brakes, is an Si rear beam the same as a Gti?

Thanks.

...apart from torsion bars too!

Anti roll bar is different too.
Most local GTis have drum brakes but bigger than the ones on the Si.

Are you after a disc brake GTi rear end? I have one I may part with. PM me dude.

I have an Si beam to play with. My Gti beam is disc brake.

What I want to know is apart from brakes, roll bars, torsion bars - are the beams the same ?

Beam tube is slightly smaller in outside diameter.

The bushes are softer also.

Bearings and pivot arms the same.

If you use the si beam you will need the smaller clamp that goes from the beam forward opver the fuel tank.

Interesting about the bushes, I have fitted group N rear mounts, better upgrade the front ones as well.
I have imported a set of phosper bronze bushes to replace the bearings see my 205 Rally car thread.

well there u go... learn something new every day! i always thought they were the same since i've known about replacing/upgrading a stuffed early GTi beam for a later Si beam. i also have a spare Si beam which i'm keeping for future use.

Thanks for the info. It was the bearing and arm info I was after. I have bought a Si beam to pull apart and "practice on" (ebay for $10.00) before I do my own with new bearings and so on. It may even be better than mine...lol
