FREE Fuego Fings

They've just gotta go!

Seven original Fuego alloy TRX rims and tyres (tyres in varying states of illegality). Pick them up for the future when these are likely to be really hard to obtain when Fuego's are restored by originality freaks.

ALSO

1982 Fuego short motor (minus head, A/C compressor, clutch). Full history known, early service history documented, genuine 180,000k's. But the PO stored the motor in a damp atmosphere so the pistons are stuck etc. However the flywheel is unmarked and the block is not corroded.

Located in Adelaide.

Grab 'em before Mr Sims does!

Simon, I note you're also in Adelaide. Can I pick your brains so I can get to know my "new" '85 Fuego a little better?
It appears to miss under hard acceleration and it sounds as if it's even backfiring when pushed at around 100.
I've seen lots of posts about Fuegos running rich. Do you think this is what's happening or is it more likely to be something like the vacuum advance?
I would love to find a cheap workshop/service manual for one, by the way.

Could be a multitude of different things that cause the missing. While Fuego's have been known to run rich, it's unlikely that would cause it to miss through the whole range. I'd be checking the simple things first like plugs, leads, distributor cap, connections to the coil and electronic ignition. After that things get a bit more in depth.

For a manual see Castle Motors at Norwood, the parts section (ex- Jacques Thoridnet) may have a Haynes manual, failing that try the Motoring Bookshop in Gouger St or phone Caravelle Imports in Melbourne.

For repairs try Olivers & Skinners at 350 Hampstead Rd Broadview.

If it still fails to respond after the above, pick up my FREE short motor, it should make the car sink off the Largs Jetty much quicker!
