Icon10 French Slot Car Collection

Guys,

Just wanted to share with you my proud collection of French Slot cars, before you have a go at me, I do have one Cit in the build progress. Will share with you later. It is very special.

Some are full race cars that I use for competition others are just shelf queens, too nice to damage! I have also included some non french cars but are my favourites as well.

Last Saturday we ran a 2hour enduro and it was good to see the Audis not win! BTW I came first!

Podium

Gordini

Jordan Peugeot

Clio

406 BTCC

205

2007 Le Mans Podium Set

Non French

Where do you get your cars from? And how long have you been building the collection?

Funny you should post that. I was only thinking this week I should put up a photo of my slot frogs. I'll have to get out the camera at the weekend.

Awesome work there! I used to race 1/24 scale slots a few years ago. I used to run mainly Group 12 and Group 20 (which were wing cars) on a 160' track. Was great fun and I got into making my own chassis etc - the group 20's were a simple wire chassis as lightness was the key!

Also made my own controllers with adjustable resistors that you could change depending on the type of car you were running and the track conditions. Pity I don't think there is a track in Adelaide any more

I held the lap record on the track I ran at for a while with the group 20 at something like 3.25 seconds for a lap of the track - which worked out to a scale speed of 1100kph!!

I only do 1/32 racing, 1/24 seems a tad daunting.

Have you been over to the guys at http://www.tbirdslotracing.com.au/

Have heard of them but haven't been there there is also this one in Adelaide http://www.scalexworld.com/ they are just around the corner from a mechanic that I go to sometimes and always seem really busy.

There was a 1/24th track down at Edwardstown here but I think it closed a few years ago. Raced there a few times.

Every now and then i get a hankering to go out and buy a scalectrix set but then the adult in me says no - have to wait till i have kids then i can get all the toys "I" want!!

It's an awesome collection that you have there!
