Default 205 CTI T16 Conversion

So after I sold the v6 project to james504
There was only one option left for the cti. Lets go back to the basic’s T16 world .

The engine that I will build for this car, will brake all my records in engine building ..

The parts that I have ordered for this project look like this ..

87mm woessner special coated & forged pistons .. compression 8.0:1

special rods 158mm (gti6 158mm) T16 (152mm)

ARP Rod Bolts

I will try to make a mix out of 2 engines for this project

1x engines 2.0l xu10j4 rs (306 gti6)
1x 307 HDI 2.0l 136 hp ..
why the hdi runs a compression of 17 bar with 1.3bar turbo Pressure.. fully forged steal crank very strong build ..8 counter weights.

Gti6 engine best xu Block to use, for a conversion . best cylinder head flow, 2 separate cam boxes, no big oil surging dramas. bigger oil and water holes ..i can add oil and water houses for the turbo to the block

Inlet Manifold 4x52 or 55 mm quad Throttle body’s in air box
Exhaust build up one ..

I will use water/water cooler not a big intercooler. Like T16 standard

Bellingo Hdi Gearbox / custom made clutch

300mm Brembo brakes. Front
266mm rear

front 306 coil over suspension
rear build a coil over system up

that’s my roughly plan .. I have nearly everything what I need to build up this project , the only thing what I miss is time…
there are nearly endless other projects what needs to be finished first ..but in the nights I will start to build up the engine.
this time I will top the 441hp ..

so this parts I will use..

so guy’s what u think ?

Sounds insane magic, hope to drop down and see it when it's done. Best of luck with the build.

Just a couple of things Magic:

a) You're a crazyman.

b) Those conrods look gorgeous.

c) You're a crazyman.

d) What's required to fit the 307 crank in the XU block? (relax, I'm only asking out of curiosity).

e) You're a crazyman.

f) Try to eat & get some sleep once in a while.

g) 441+ hp? ..... You're a crazyman!

That's a serious looking set of conrods!

Good luck with the project.

After watching Magic work (building my new motor) I've learnt a lot and have the utmost respect for his knowledge.

I'm looking forward to seeing this motor, just wish I could have something like it in the rally car (although I doubt I could afford the parts).

Looking forward to seeing him build a rally car and have some fun too!!!

Cheers

Sounds awesome, think you should put it in a nice Mi16 body, then it would be the closest thing to a real T16 we'd ever see in Aus.

Wooowwww guys Thanks for that.

I Didn’t except this reaction from the forum. cheers for that .

@jonnybabe
d) What's required to fit the 307 crank in the XU block? (relax, I'm only asking out of curiosity).

I had a Vision few mounts ago, and this week I replaced a sump of a 307 Hdi so I saw the crank in the block, this even motivated me more to go this way. The ew10 hdi engine is based on the xu 10 block. So I hope I can swap same parts. or I even use the diesel block and fit the rods and pistons in it. I don’t know yet , I have to measure all first .i hope it work out for me on same way.

@rexxus
let me taste blood with the rally sport , and I turn to a vampire the need for blood.

@pommy360
looks good. jus wondering how did you source all the parts as i am interested in getting a start with sourceing parts 4 a 306 project?
thanks

after 16 years building 205 cars, I know what works and what doesn’t work. And I swear of made in Germany,
so when you need same thing let me know, maybe I can help you

@emi16

I own 2x 405 T16 I bought one for petert but the car never made his way to AU.
So when u want one let me know, is even cheaper that you think, the car.

I wrote why I build it, but I deleted it, think will go to much in off topic and emotions. Let me say this, when you see the tears in the eyes of a Kawasaki zx9 or Yamaha r1 driver you know what I mean . when u have a totally hided weapon, that’s my world

thanks all for that

hear a video of the German Racewars 2005
i won it with the 205 CTI T16 in 2 classes

Your dreaming if you reckon you'll beat an R1 or Kwaka.

Do you reckon you could do a mid mount in a 205 Magic?

hi luca

The zx9 runs a 10.6 sec on 402m .. on a VW event I managed to run a 11.1 sec
On a rolling start they don’t have any more the traction advance..
Any way you don’t cant image 441hp in a 850 kg car , so I understand your position very well.

No I cant build a mid mount 205, no need for that.

Magic I reckon that the bike would win but I for one would love to watch that 1/4 mile drag.

I'll just have to buy a mid mount!

I took yesterday the HDI engine apart to check the parts inside,
It didn’t impressed me at all ..so I took the gti6 block to my Mate the engine builder, to overbore the engine.

i had my relaxing day today , so I did a dummy build with my son.
To check the clearness, And measured the hole lot again up..

I can’t write it down how good all is.

both cranks

the top one is GTI6 fully forged crank , with 8 counter weights
the button one HDI fully F…d Cast crank with 4 counter weights
so again the gti6 wins

for my test fitting I used the old gti6 bearings ..

no mercy

married

Tomorrow I will pull all apart, and send the crank, rods, pistons, flywheel , clutch, and crank pulley to balance all up
I will take 1.5kg off from the Flywheel ..

The cylinder head comes then next week ..
I have a Special plan for this as well

It is now 4 years ago that I build a T16 engine , and today I felled my heart is beating in the right rhythms again ..

sorry for this big posting, i all ready took photos out..

I will quote my engine hear , so you guys get a idea how much it will coast a engine like this

My engine was a Citroen vts (gti6)with 28tkm with manifolds, air compressor, alternator, starter 3500$

Pistons rods . 3700$
Haltech e 11 2300$
Quad throttle bodies 2400$
Gearbox with quaife 2500$ new build gearbox
Turbo Gt/30 rs 1600$
Exhaust & manifold 2000$
Water/Water cooler 1000$ T 16 part
Brakes Brembo 2000$ with disc and pads
Custom made coil over 2000$
Clutch kit 700$
Engine overhaul 1000$ gaskets, overbore, etc
Cams (cat cams) 1000$
Waste gate & houses. Water pumps & dyno tuning , wiring stuff, etc 1500$

With out to listed all 24700$ and I do all by my self, so I don’t need to pay same one.
And for what maybe 400 to 500 hp. Is it worth? Must decide everybody for him self, my advise ,never do this.
i did it 4 years ago, and now i do it again.

now I don’t need to write emails or pm’s any more, how much coast a T16 engine..
