Did a site survey today, nice spot!

Can't get mobile broadband though .
It works on the hill before entering town so I may have to work on getting a better antenna.

I'll be there, hopefully even have the bumpers sprayed and some panelbeating done.
If not then you'll get to see a sad looking GT
It's still happy on the inside though!

That's just down the road from me, in fact my wife and I were married in the church across the road and held our reception in the hall at that site.

Will ensure I make the time to pop by.

Hey Guys,

So who is coming to the FCD?

The 16v just got its annual wash so hopefully will still be clean next weekend

Are you bringing the Bx Chris? Should I get dad to bring the blue one so we can do blue/white/red

Default Who's going?

This year I am leaving the 404 ute in the garage and taking the 403 sedan. You can't miss it - it has the number 60 on the side (thanks Greenblood!).

Any advice for a driver coming from the Gold Coast - best route etc?

Default Gold coast to brookfield Convoy?

There are probably quicker routes but if you want to keep it simple and you don't know your way around Brisbane, go this way:

Gold coast to brisbane on the M1,
Once in Brisbane keep going onto Coronation drive, then onto Kenmore, then Brookfield , all these locations are signedposted and virtually a straight run.

I'll be living Ormeau area in a DS about 7.30am if anyone wants to travel in a group. Roads in Brisbane on Sunday are pretty quiet.

I have everything re-sprayed now. I only need to put it back together. Got 3 doors and the bootlid screwed back today. Unfortunately one door lock got stuck when I was testing the lock adjustment. It will be fun to open that. Then just put the last door in and screw all the chrome trims in. shame I did not have time to cut and polish the paintwork

Thanks for the advice - I checked out the shorter routes but prefer your suggestion. I may not make your early start but shouldn't be too far behind you.

Sounds like you have a bit more to do than I then. I just have to prep sand and topcoat the arch, I wont have the GT bumper finished - it needs some plastic welding so the car will be sporting the Tri-122 bumper that i've had on it in the mean time.
I moved it yesterday after primering/sanding only to discover 3 little pools of oil, 2 engine oil and 1 gearbox.. does it ever end

Good luck!

Depending on how much I get done tomorrow might bring the S16 down..see how I go, weekend before rally prep so that takes precedence.

I'm planning to come out for a look with my 3 year old in tow.

Though that all depends on how the 5 week old goes the night before...

Weather's not looking too flash.
Is there a inclement weather alternative for this venue?

Forecast for Sunday
Showers easing. Light to moderate SE to NE winds, fresh at times about the
coast.

Precis: Showers easing
City: Min 14 Max 21

As far as I know, no plan 'B' for inclement weather... forecast is for a better day than today, showers with a possibility of sunshine? We have had quite a bit of rain so far today, showgrounds will be quite damp.

Sounds like it's rugup and bring a brolly

Cheers
Chris

Your car is muddy again already anyway so that doesn't matter too much.
- and can you save me a spot at the AF pavilion near the BX's since you're going early and all?

The ground where the cars are to be displayed is a cricket ground and so it drains well, so the Groundsman says. He said it would be fine as long as we don't get 150mm overnight.

The event WILL go on regardless, unless torrential conditions occur, and even then the cars can be placed around the ground, rather than in the middle.
