Well I'm not sure if his is the best or not?

What I do know is that he has spent a hell of a lot of time and money on it... but it sadly requires a bit of TLC at present... maybe that is why RDG is trying to persuade me to buy it from him???.... RHR

Haven't seen it for couple of years but motor work looked terrific and retrim was pretty good.
Still trying to get red dust from Caversham out of ours as I imagine wildebeest is doing to his 504.

Be good to see you and Mrs Chris there- think I had better find some name tags.

Just spoke to Cola Cafe and said there would be a group of AussieFrogs descending on them tomorrow. They thought name was "cool" and just ask for AussieFrog group if you don't recognise anybody.

Quite a few turned up today-nine I think in total- and with beautiful weather very enjoyable. Toodyay Festival was on with classic and collectable cars- street parades- jazz band on footpath at Cola Cafe and they had reserved tables for AussieFroggers.

RHR has some pics I think-lots of talk and it was good to put faces and names to the User names.

Yes it was nice catching up with you all. It was the perfect day for a drive into the country, and the atmosphere in Toodyay was great.

Lucky Graelin getting the drive of the Roller.

We (Graelin and My brother) travelled out on our motor cycles. Met up with three Honda VTR 1000 and two other K series BMWs at the Caltex servo and headed off for a tour of Obrien road. The speed limit has been dropped to 80 kph by the way here but the corners were taken in a manner that found the centre stand touch down.

When at Toodyay found out that the music festival had a car display by the Avon Valley Vintage club and we went for a stroll thru thier English offerings.

Dressed in our Motorcycle gear we talked to a couple of members then the call went out the car parade is starting and we need a driver for the Rolls Royce.
Well my brother put up his hand and the keys were thrown our way and off we went in some ones Rolls Royce.

We made the most of this with driving thru the town with our Royal Waves and brother asking in his best Prince Charles voice if any one had seen Camilla?

We still do not know whos car it was and the owners had know idea who the two bikies in his car were either!!!

We have video of this and will post later when edited.
A pic of the bikes we travelled with my Red BMW in back ground

Thanks to Westair for organising and all the others for what was a terrific day out.

Default Delightful Day....

A truly delightful day, blessed by glorious weather, good company, fine cars and a 'free' Country Music festival thrown in!

And as if that were not enough I enjoyed two 'added bonuses'....

Bonus 1: On returning to my car, I was approcahed by a guy who said... ' Hi, my name is Chris Jones and I own one of the original 12 G's and am building a tarmac rally replica as well' .....

WHAT???.... Who on plane Earth would ever believe that I could drive up to little olde sleepy Toodyay and meet the owner of one of only SIX 12G 'originals' in this entire Nation....

Seems Chris and Family were visiting 'the in-laws, who live in the area... and took a strole down town to check out the festival... and there he discovers a 12G 'replicar'.... Bloody amazing...

Bonus 2: I called in on fellow-frogger, Trackyellow (Frank of Hilton) who donated a heap of Renault parts from his shed clean-out.... including a complete 16TS head, some brand new brake pads, a master cylinder, front strut and a genuine Ducellier 16TS distributor.... which was exactly what I was looking for, to replace that dreadful Bosch unit on the 12G 'R'.... Thanks Frank, much appreciated.

Thanks to Warren Mathews for organising the day.... very pleasant.... RHR

Yes, we had a nice day out and good to catch up with the guys. We will have to go to the cafe again someday.
Pretty funny with Graelin and the Roller, and RHR's chance meeting with the 12G owner.
Kicking myself for forgetting to take photos before the group dispersed, only pic is the one below (Rod & Bob), about 5 minutes before RHR met the 12G owner.

Cheers

Yes I am always up for a bite at the coca cola cafe.

One of the best days out in ages for us and look forward to more like it.

Hey, thanks for that Fordman... glad you took the Renault Scenic (instead of the Frord) on the day.

With respect to the pic.... the 'good-lookin' bloke, in the cap is RHR.... the 'skinny dood' is RDG (turbo magician), with his red Fuego 1998cc SOHC fuel injected inter-cooled turbo.... RDG and I first met in 1961 and have been friends ever since. We built our first speedcar, using a 'Lemans Healy' motor in 1961 and campaigned it with reasonable success at Claremont Speedway... RDG, at age 66 (come friday 28th September) is now building a new Speedcar, with an electronic fuel injected , turbo-charged, 1998cc SOHC Fuego engine.... a virtual 'replica' of his 'road' fuego....albeit with a massive 'basket of snakes' exhaust system and running on pure methanol (98% alcohol)... RHR

Looks like quite a nice XA Falcon Hardtop in the background, too.

Actually, with the pic of you roosters, I was interested to see the choice of "driving shoes", since it's come up recently.

Cheers, Adam.
