Seeing as there is a number of people to criticise the 180 (which everyone has a right to have an opinion), thought it might be interesting too see what the owners think of their cars.

Im extremely happy with my 180. :headbang:

So, are you happy with your 180, yes or no? (in general)

Yes, i have only had it 6 days but have been suitably impressed by it, and happy with my choice. Great interior, handling and throttle response is pretty good. Nice ratios and its the little things i most appreciate in the car.

Coming out of 180SX with the best part of 280kw most cars were going to be a step down but so far the Pug has been fine as all my driving is city stuff and work related, the Nissan was too impracticle and portrayed a certain image.

No prizes for guessing the colour. I have only seen one other one on the road but there were 3 being taken delivery of the same day i picked up mine.

Cheers

I'm so happy with mine, THe way it handles is unbelievable i've only had it for 5 days but it goes great just feels so smooth on the road. I just have to get use to the review mirror seems like everything is huge and in widescreen. But i'm sure in a couple of days it will be fine. i love the fact that i have a car that doesn´ t need to be modified as everything is standard like the sports exhuast seats, lights wheels.
But you have the option if you want!!!!!

On the whole it's a great car and just to add the reason i picked the car was so i could rival and beet my brother in his clio sport. which around the corners i'll leave him for dead !!!!

:)

black180, I feel the black 180 will be more rare than the blue, which suprises me as black is usually so popular and looks awesome on the 180. I almost got black but changed my mind at the last minute. I actually like all the colours, Im suprised I like the red as I usually dont like red unless its a ferrari etc. But it looks great on the 180 too.

Any other 180 owners want to shed some light on whether your happy with the car or not?

I just prefered the black. Test drove a silver, had a look at pics of blue and red. Neither did much for me. Saw a blue one on the road the other morning, nice but i stand by my choice.

My first Pug also, although i did nearly buy a 205GTi but choose the 180SX in the end. I have a penchant for cars with a certain number in the title. Haven't had a good chance to really throw the car around but the few corners i have encountered have been tackled pretty well. I just have to remember not to steer with my right foot like the old car. That will change with more k's though.

So far so good, drove a Mini Cooper S, RCS etc couldn't find a ST170 in Sydney which was very dissapointing, they also carry an extra 150 odd kegs. The closest one was in Melbourne, way to sell a car Ford! Personally i liked the Pug so it got the nod, and at a good price too. Very quick turn around in getting the thing in my hands.

Bought mine two weeks ago and havn't stopped smilling. I had a WRX before this and wasn't expecting much, but this thing is sooo much fun.

Mine is black also and I love this colour.

My only gripe is with the tinting (no fault of the car, and a few delivery scratches) - as for the performance and handling......great.

Would love to catch up with other Sydney GTis, whats happeneing with the drive on the 18th???

I`m very very happy with my 180 i`m in love with it  :roflmao: :roflmao:

:drivin:

I purchased the 180 two weeks ago as my second (wifes) car. I was after a car for my wife that I can have some fun in on the week ends. We have had WRX, Alfa 156 and my personal car is a current 320i so we have had a broad spectrum of fine rides. The "pugley" is certainly fun for its price range and as a standard package packs a good list of goodies (17", suspension, interior etc). I find the seating position a bit cumbersome, gear box notchy (crunches when quick shifted) and the steering a little bit on the heavy side.
The "pugley" remark earlier wasn't a remark on its looks because it certainly looks the part of a hot hatch.
Looking around at other hot hatches (take out the Clio cause I didnt try this one) I must say the 180 offered the best value for money. I personally liked the cooper s and with the works kit but the price is almost off the planet (52 k + ORC)
I found the trade in price on our 2 1/2 year old Alfa from the Puegeot the best price (even better from the Alfa dealer who we bought the car from on a new 147 and 147 GTA !!!). This car even worked out cheaper than trading the Alfa on a Mazada 3 or a Corolla sportiva !!! (dont worry had keep the missus happy and let her test drive them !!)
Perhaps ask the same question in 6 months but at the momement is still like the honeymoon period !!! so I am happy with the car and the 180 has to one of the best value "hot hatches" around at the momement :headbang:

When the 180 was launched I hada look at the order list at Rockdale. All 30 odd on pre-order were in black. I don't think they're that rare...I've seen more black ones than any other colour.

Just to stay on topic, I'm happy that y'all are happy with your 180s. :P

HAHA i agree with XTC206........ unhappy cos i don't have a 206gti180 too....... but really tempting to sell my 307 and replace it with a 180, cos i really love the look and the seats, not to mention the extra performance......

I was fortunate enough to lay my hands on one of the second batches of Gti180 to come into the Australia. I got mine back in February and love every minute of it! I haven't driven many cars (especially sports car) but my little pug really give me confidence when driving it. I mean the overall setup of the car is excellent and corning speed is ridicously fast! But at the end of the day I feel at peace knowing that if I do overstep the thin line, that all the safety equipment is there to help save me!

In terms of colour, I think it comes down to personal peferences. For it was black because I felt it made the car look more classy. Blue and silver was going to be too popular. Have you guys seen a white Gti180? I've seen pics on the net and it looks quite good. I was tempted to get one in white but then I knew that I'll have to wait like forever to get it (mind you I had to wait about 4 months to get my Gti180!).

A few white ones have trickled into the country I beleive. Hard to find though.

white looks mint, I love it! I reckon an impact body kit and new rims, lower it some and wow, something special.

Anymore happy 180ers out there?

My 180 is my second Peugeot... after my old ‘01 moonstone GTI. I'm in love with it and enjoy every minute of driving. I actually have a company car which I leave a home for most of the week, just so I can drive my 180.

It's actually quite baffling, that there has been so much negativity about them. They are a fantastic car, and there’s no question about it. I sometimes wonder if there isn’t any under-the-table dodgyness when it comes to reviews. I really can’t understand how you could give it a bad review!!!

I must admit, I’m planning to mine in October, with most probably less than 10,000kms on the clock… but only to chase a dream of building a super schmick ’65 Mustang. Worked 351, 18’ billet wheels, stock looking leather interior, loads of chrome and a flawless paint job all over…. Now that’s a real car.

but it changed his opinion of my relatively subdued looking hatchback!

make sure you point out some of the euro styled pugs, get him to talk to somebody like autoparis to add a little rice. I reckon there is nothing too subdued about the impact body kit :headbang: ! oo la lah (my french is real poor, non existent).

I sold the stockers ages ago... they ended up on Omak's GT kitted CC.

Sorry, selling the car as is. I know I'll loose a on it, but these days I don't have the cash I used to. So if I wanna spend $60K on rebuilding a Mustang, I'm going to have to make sacrifices.

no worries, but if you change your mind and think it would add value to add stock rims at time of sale, Im sure somebody would do a swap! :roflmao: :joker:
