XM upper Strut mounts.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a pair of upper strut mounts for a 1992 XM (mechanic says it is Feb/1993 according to VIN No.?), 5 speed manual, 2 lt Turbo Petrol? And how much they cost?
Mechanic says Citroen don't supply them now?

Are the Xantia upper strut mounts interchangeable?

Do you know the difference between early and late style parts? Early have a rubber ring at the bottom, while the later ones have a metal ring where the early ones are rubber. This gives the centre of the strut mount a top hat shape and is meant to prevent it pushing right up and into the bonnet. The are not the same as Xantia parts.

Being a 2.0 litre, it will have a different diameter to the garden variety 3.0 V6, but you need to know whether or not the struts have ever been changed and what part numbers are supposed to suit your car. I expect you will find the left mount is NFP for the 2.0, but the right mount may still be available from Citroen for the 2.0 litre. Not sure about Hydractive vs non-Hydractive porting though. I can tell you the RH strut top for the V6 appears to be unavailable and a French supplier was unable to get one for me last week.

I think you may be able to find a new left one for the 2.0 litre if you look for cbg's advert from last year. A strut change to later V6 struts rendered the part surplus.

Failing new factory parts, look for the crowd from Lithuania who re-rubber them. The UK crowd have been trying them, but I don't know what the verdict is at present.

XM owners should now keep all old strut tops as possible rebuild cores.
