Hi All,

Attached a picture of the GTI. Bit embarrassing as the only picture I have here has me in it.

Thanks for the feedback from some members recommending a post here and to provide some more information. Car has full service history, A/C is not working and never has in the time I have owned the car. My mechanic has described the car as tight in terms of the way it drives and handles.

I'll provide some more pictures on the weekend.

If anyone can give me an honest sort of price range I should be looking at that would be most appreciated.

Cheers,

Ben

"I have a Peugeot 205 GTI Series 3 that has done 124,000 kms. My mechanic, a French car specialist in Victoria, recently told me it's the best GTI he services.

Doesn't have any mods, always garaged and has been driven once or twice a week for the
past 6 years during the time I have owned it."

ok i will take a stab and say if its a nice clean car with no major issues, around $4000 with rwc would pull me up.

i havnt come across a 205 gti that doesnt need work or money spent on it, so price can go either way dramatically depending on seeing the car in the flesh.

non-standard bonnet? What else has been sprayed?

Std questions....

What shape is the rear beam in?
Timing belt water pump?
Also is RWC supplied?
Seats in good nick?
Service history?

These are all the things (plus quite a few more) you need to be prepared to grt asked. How these questions are answer will dictate the price. From what I can see it looks nice enough.

A 93-4 mod would get $3500-4500 without too many hassels.
Any major works mean that the price plumets.

REDBOOK is a fair guide.

Purchase price is based on roughly four criteria :

1. Present Condition
2. Service and maintenance history
3. Originality / Modifications
4. Number of klms travelled

Major work is not always a negative. For instance I'd buy an S3 that had recently been completely resprayed, engine overhauled and had all suspension components replaced.

But at the end of the day all a sale requires is one interested buyer ....

Hi All,

Thanks for the feedback and the advice.

Apologies been offline for a bit but plan is to get the car serviced and ready for RWC in the next couple of weeks and then post on carsales or ebay at which point people are most welcome to come and have a look.

Cheers,

Ben
