Renault currently manufacture the D4, 4 cylinder petrol motors of 60-80bhp in the Douvrin factory which is jointly owned with PSA. They announced today that they will be making the new H4 3 cylinder 90bhp series motors at Pitesti in Roumania and the H5 4 cylinder 115 bhp at Valladolid in Spain.
As a result there will be yet more cut backs in workers in France, although Douvrin will continue to make the cylinder heads and camshafts. The H4 and H5 will cut emissions by 30-40 gms/km and will make up 85% of the petrol motors used by Renault in 2015.
The R9M the 130bhp diesel motor that is going in the Mégane will be made in Cléon in France. That factory will be retained and will start making electric motors in 2013.

Last year Renault made 29% of its motors in France as against 85% for PSA. Renault will be making just 40% of its investments in France 2011- 2013.
They are still persisting with the plan to build the new Clio in Turkey in spite of political objections in France.
