The R17 rear hatch had a black panel. Can any one remember just how black they were, or do they have an original hatch in good condition, not faded. Mine has some good patches and it appears as if it was fairly shiny, more so than satin black but not glossy with depth. I have to repaint it and would like it to have a fairly original effect if possible.

I do have some original coloured photos and the hatch's do appear to shine a bit but they are not showing any reflections.

What have other painted theirs?

Satin Black, reference no. 699.

The hatch is in good nick including the black paint but it goes to the scrap man unless someone takes it quickly.

Oh Oh Phil just wish I was closer I so need spare stuff. But recent trip to Newcastle and need to visit Sydney before end of month just makes it all too difficult.

Won't some one rescue this stuff?
