Anyone restoring R25's
We've found so many mint condition doors its just not funny any more, plus a pair of brand new rear doors still in there plastic wrapping, also a new R19 bonnet, a new R12 rear bumper. a new R21 bonnet and a couple of new 505 bonnets. Plus a pair of Koni front shockers for a R25 Plus 7 of these mag wheels for R12's. This one is damaged but the others are fine

Hi David
What size are the R12 mags? I'm interested in 13" x 5.5" or wider. Cheers

Hi David,
Any rear doors, with winders that haven't perished? Ken at Caravelle had rear worm type plastic sheath winders on the shelf that began to perish.. I'd be keen if they are intact.. maybe they could be painted in epoxy or something before they are stressed and the brittle plastic breaks. David.

There definately 13". I think there 5.5 wide but its hard to tell. All it says inside them is 500 B 13 FH - S2S4 and on the other side DUNLOP SA Made in France. On second look they might only be 5". I just checked them against a Gordini rim and there about 1/2" smaller ![]() Dave, what car do you want the winders for? There's plenty of really good R25 doors here. Quite a few R16 doors out in the yard.

Bugger! I was hoping I might be able to find an alternative to running 185/60/R13 track tyres on my 4 remaining Gordini rims. 13 x 5 just too narrow. Thanks anyway David, appreciate you doing the analysis.
Cheers

I have plenty of R16 doors, but I'm interested in winders. I have atleast 2 sets of doors, in both cases (and both cars besides the v6) the winders are broken, and the internal worm gear escapes the broken plastic sheath. If you have 'just' the winders it would be better, as I am about to move house and will be shot if I bring doors home. Shot or de-jewelled ![]() David.

Ahh, do you have the R25 V6 that was up for sale in Albert park a few years ago? I even flew down to Melbourne to buy that, but was a bit unsure when i saw her. Had a blue Velour interior, no A/C and a few dents etc.

That's the one, but to add.. Leaky sun roof, psychotic electrics, and the fact it seems to use petrol just sitting in the driveway.
I did attempt to register it about 12 months ago, but silly things like the speedo, we couldn't get working. I've contemplated putting it on LPG.

Last time I drove it (with an unregistered permit) it was erratically flashing lights, 'WARNING, Electrical Malfunction, Pull over IMMEDIATELY' ... I sorta guessed that with the flashing dash, like a 70s mainframe....
Needless to say, the kids love that car. Maybe next time I try and start it, it will self destruct. I really didn't mean to hijack the thread... we will hear from David C Monday no doubt.
