Shame they were TRXs so never used on Euro/UK/NZ Fuegos. Being an older design the Fuego suits a substantial wheel design - any modern slim spoke design just looks stupid. A modern wheel can do wonders for the Fuego with CAREFUL consideration. Here's one of my girls sitting on 16" MAK Raves, lowered at the front by 5cm. I get plenty of positive comments!

Yeah, I personally like modern wheels. I had a simple dished silver 5 spoke 16 inch wheel on my old white Fuego and loved the look, but it was lowered quite extensively so that may have enhanced the look somewhat.

I personally think lighter colours gives a bit more flexibility in wheel choice.

Those wheels really suit your car and colour, but I'm not sure they'd look quite as good on a red car. They would really dominate the car and add another colour to the pallete.

With a Red Fuego, you have red duco, the black lines and black outs and I think adding a big silver wheel would look out of place.

The problem is, if you go to dark, they tend to make the car look dark and you lose the wheel.

If I go the modern route, I quite like these wheels. They have a machined edge over black so it keeps an element of the original machined look but with a bigger modern look. I'd love to see a set in the flesh though, but I can't find a Vic supplier.

There are just so many wheels...

Oh, I still despise the US Turbo wheel

The stock wheels and TRX tyres are in VGC on the Fuego which may be great for concourse, but imo TRX's kind suck big time (sorry ken).

I quite liked my old wheels as they unusually had a concave dish to the outer lip which tended to give the car more of a 'wheel at each corner' look.

I generally hate chrome (although a polished or chrome outer lip can look good).

Anyone seen aftermarket wheels on a Fuego (probably 16's) that just looked 'right' for the car?

Hey Richard
What happened to the nice wheels which were on the Fuego that er went away

They're were on the Fuego(RIP) I gave to Chris Cav.

I could probably get a set still (or something similar) but I was after something new, and I don't think they'd look quite right on a red car.

I must be getting old... As I think the R25 wheels look quite good on it ... I didn't like them on the R25 we had years ago. Hey Hakkon, they might be light, but damn they bend easy. The low milage R25 when it was young years ago had two square wheels when my father bought it.........

The wheels MistaRenault shows above look good.... But dunno about on a Fuego, they might look to "modern" for an older car

If you go modern, you can't go too much bigger than 15
" especially if you go the very open style wheels. Huge bling wheels look awful on a car that had 13" originals because you get these little saucer size discs/drums inside this massive void of space with spokes going through no mans land to a rim and thin rubber band tyre.

And to be fully sick you can paint your drums red.
Thats one of the reason I like closed rims, with the exception of the horrible Celica looking ones on the US turbo.

I kept hearing that, and my parts car had flat spot on most of its rims. I never bent one though And I wasn't gentle driving up and down the bush track my olds live on, and hit my fair share of manhole covers and potholes in the 80odd K km I did in it...
