Hi all

The Canberra French Car Day is being held on Saturday 5 November 2011 from 2.30pm to 7pm in conjunction with the Telopea School Fete and is again being sponsored by Shannons. Trophies will be awarded for best Renault, best Peugeot, best Citroen and best French car as per popular vote on the day. Delicious food and drinks will be available for sale at the fete along with other goodies including the monster raffle with first prize a trip to Paris for two.

Sadly it is on the same day as the bi-annual Cooma Motorfest from which entrants cannot leave until 4pm.

Barry,

Can you please advise if Peugeot 604 and 605 models are recognised for this event?

I ask because they apparently didn't exist at the last significant French car show attended by myself.

Thanks. :)

Addo - good to see you actually posting.

By the way did you realise that was your 604th post. Pretty tricky mate. I took a screen shot to prove it

Telopea Park School is located at 25 New South Wales Crescent, Barton, ACT. Google Telopea Park School and it will throw up a map for you.

I wonder if I can get the head back on the Clio in time.

Just an update for next Saturday. School is now fenced and entrance will be sign posted and will be from the Telopea Park side the same as previously. Weather forecast looks good - sunny and 29 degrees. Don't forget the school is again running its giant raffle with many prizes on offer, including a trip to Paris for two valued at up to $4000.

See you all there.

Canberra French Car Day 5 November 2011

Hi all

A warm 29 degrees greeted participants at the French Car Day and again there was a strong contingent from the Renault Club of Australia based in Sydney. In all there were 34 cars with 18 Renaults, 10 Pugs and 6 Citroens. Results of the popular vote were: Best French Car Outright went to Gerry Carson for his Citroen Light 15. He also won best Citroen. Best Renault went to Andrew Collier from the Sydney Club for his Renault 5 Turbo 2 and best Peugeot went to Brad Pillans for his Pug 203.

Some of us stayed for the draw of the giant raffle but no one we knew won the trip for two to Paris worth $4,000. Winners will be posted as soon as the results are officially advised by the school.

Balloon guys

Not sure why they set up the balloons gas burner under a tree, but I reckon today would have the poor old gum with one side completely fried!

Hi all

For those that attended the Canberra French Car Day on 5 November at Telopea Park School, here are the results of the raffle. There were over $25,000 worth of prizes on offer with the number 1 prize of a trip to Paris for two worth $4000. Unfortunately, no one I knew won that and it would have been nice to at least win the French course (prize number 11).
