Front end is almost done so should start sealing and priming next week....at last!
He has also tidied up the whole underside - fixed all the cracks, trimmed off broken bits and proof-coated the under-tub.

Nose cone pretty well done...we had to remove some very dodgy repair bog and re-glass some sections. Bonnet etc fitted up to align everything, so the next step should be sealing and priming of the whole body!

where did ya get a fiberglass one?

But in all serious, when remolding, have others moved onto stronger material in some frame sections, like Kevlar etc?

John....no spray putty (heaven forbid!)....all filling has been done by hand.
The coat you see is polyamide epoxy - best thing for sealing fibreglass. Next step will be to hand block down to get the lines right, then refit all panels and square up to ensure proper fit.... then re-application of epoxy to re-seal, then prime and colour. We want to ensure that the final product lasts for many years without cracking etc, thus the drawn out and careful prep.

Yes I forgot we are working with fibregalss. And from what we have seen on other examples, it can crack in some places and destroy a nice paint finish if not done right. Well done Nauli

This is the only way, 98% preparation and perspiration, 2% painting! You'll be very happy with the result.

Nauli, can you please put me on the "interested" list? And will you be so kind to measure the wheel offset for me some time? To make it easy, lie the wheel face down, tyre and all, and measure to where the wheel seats on the hub. That way will be easy for me to check on the Matra if there is enough clearance.

    Regards, Frans.

Will do Frans...I seem to remember measuring the offset some time ago, but I can't find the figures. Next time at the paint shop I will have a go at measuring. I will measure the fronts which are fitted with a 185 wide tyre from memory.
