A 1.6 shouldn't have half leather? Why not do it in fabric as original?

The late 1.6's [1990 -85kw ] had an option of part leather in the UK.

No Bluey.....Plastidip is not the best i found over the long run. Going to use AUTOBRIGHT from the UK.....[Much better even than Plasticare ]
    Autobright is very permanent.

best wishes with this addition to your stable. I'll be interested
to hear how it compares with a stock S3 1.9.

Hi JR, I've never seen mention of the part-leather being an option... only the full leather.

Be interested to get the VIN of this (if I haven't already) to see the factory delivered trim.

I drove the 1.6 that JRA brought out for evaluation in around 1985/6. It went like a cut cat, hit valve bounce in a flash and I've never seen valve bounce in any other XU engine. Much more exciting than a S3 1.9. This was the 105 hp model I would assume, unless it was a special one built to get us all excited?
I've driven one or two since, at least one of them was a 115 hp, and all were very disappointing, so a bit of a mystery really.

Thats interesting Graham....maybe that JRA car had the PTS kit installed [125hp ] to get journos excited ???? If not that one most suredly a 105 hp one as the 115hp version didnt come available till mid 87.
Funny enough there were 2 versions of the 115 model too [o2 sensor and ECU ]

2017 would be a good year for this LOL. Up here in QLD we have talked about a meetup to happen up here....maybe could get 5 i reckon.
With the majority of 205's in Syd and Melb i would guess the venue would be somewhere down there me thinks.

Gary Bain, service manager at Peugeot ran it at a few track days, Peter T I think knows what happened to it eventually.

Nice one JR, so that's the car you've got! what's the rest of the car like? Did you pull the dash apart or was that how you found it?

I just this week picked up some bits for the Mi16 and the guy had a 1.6 GTi he races in events such as Targa West and does alright. He was telling me it hits 8000 rpm no worries. I did ask and some balancing has been done, but otherwise apparently pretty stock. He's reduced weight to 680kg within the CAMS requirements that it appears stock, so it still has carpets etc.

JR I don't believe there was ever cat (avec o2 sensor) version of the XU5JA engine... there were two version B6D and B6E but both used the same Jetronic LE ECU.
