    Default Little White 205GTI

Hi All, I'm new here to the aussiefrogs and to Peugeots! We just brought home a poor little 205GTI in need of some TLC and in need of being driven!

I'll be looking for a few parts and maybe some advice here and there so I'd like to say G'day and introduce myself.

    cheers Craig.

Wow. That looks like a little gem. How many k's?

And what year is it? Looks a bit mishmash.

Some plastic crap missing, if you want the missing bits, I think I might have all of them and you can have them for the price of postage (which may be a fair bit though from WA). Not in brilliant shape, but they'll do you.

That's a super cute little car. But why do you have a banana for a gear knob?

Hi, it's an 88 built late 87, definitely a mishmash, I figure that is it's history so I'm going with it, and fixing it of course!
yes I'd really appreciate the help with the plastic parts, I need:
    * Black dash section that goes over instrument cluster and around to center vents including vents and little compartment
    * Black center dash surround including ash tray and either clock or clock blank out panel
    * Black center dash buttons including A/C
    * Black Indicator stalk and wiper stalk of later model car
    * gear knob of some type, I'm ok with anything better than the crap that's in there
    * Oil filler plastic can
    * cold air induction tube that goes over engine to air box
....maybe some other bits as I go!!

Yeah it's been fiddled with! quite a few issues here and there, but they will all be pretty easy to sort out as long as I can find the bits.
    cheers Craig.

    Hi EvilElmo,
yeah pretty cool car, thanks for the link! banana gear knobs are better for cornering apparently, I recommend you try one at least once!

If you can't find them locally I may be able to help you with the induction pipe, the indicator and wiper stalks, a good passenger headlight (yours doesn't look too health?) and centre dash buttons. For the binnacle cover, you may have to bite the bullet and bring a decent one in from the UK if you can find one - most Aussie ones are toast. No harm, however, seeing what Schlitz may be able to provide you as a start point!

Not sure what you meant by this Addo but, just for the avoidance of doubt, I certainly never meant to suggest anything to the contrary - hence why I suggested taking up his offer of parts before spending money to buy others?

A little closer to the removing the radiator.... and for those interested in clear shot of the engine bay.

Not too many defects! although the disconnected/loose wire count is now over 50

I definitely have all the plastic bits, the only problem is some are crappier than others. All better than nothing though. Hence they're all free (except postage). You need to move quickly with some address because on Wed I am out of here for a good while.

As for the other bits (intake, oil filler, etc), I suggest you look for new ones. They do exist, are expensive and cost a packet to ship, but you won't find decent ones lying about here. I bought new ones, so there you go.

The dash top is good to buy if you find a good one (wherever you find it), but be careful and ask for pictures. A lot of good s/h spares turn out not to be that good when they show up in the mail. I bought about five of them from overseas and I only have a good one which is in the car. The rest all have at least one of the little plastic locator thingies at the bottom broken by ham fisted backyard mechanics who lose their patience and pull too hard to take them out. Just one example.
