    Default Alpine White modern equivalent?

    Hello

I am wanting to tidy up the Alpine White paintwork on a '73 Peugeot 504.
At the moment it is not possible to drive the car to a paint shop for colour matching and the paint code for Alpine White means nothing to them.
Is there a modern day equivalent which is close enough to the old Alpine White? I am not repainting the car, just touching up a few areas.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Can you just remove something like a fuel filler flap and take that in to get colour matched?

A number of automotive paint suppliers offer an on -the-spot mix/ match and supply in a spray can.

If you are lucky, you may find supplier who can mix the paint to a formula from an (old) catalog, otherwise take a painted item off the car to use as a color sample.

Cut an polish your sample item before having it matched to get the best color match.

Doesn't the Pug have an Australian paint code sticker hiding somewhere?

They do, however in my experience the matching formulas for Dulux M acrylic Lacquer is hard for many to find.

There was a factory outlet I used, who had the formula, and indeed most Renault and Peugeot Heidelberg assembled vehicles and could mix in either 2pack or acrylic. The name currently escapes me. However I remember a trip to the back of Dandenong to collect the paint.

The name has come to me.. protech.

I agree with Robmac, take a polished sample for matching. Ideally a section that is not faded or stained. The filler cap/flap is a good idea, so long as its not fuel stained. Alternatively, the inside of the boot lid would be ideal, the paint should be in reasonable condition in there.

    Cheers

Thanks for the input.I think the problem with the paint code is that Dulux no longer make automotive paint. Will take a piece into paint shop after giving it a good polish.

In Hobart I order Alpine White over the phone and pick it up a few hours later. Try a different paint shop maybe.
