Default 1984 Renault Fuego 2.2L Turbo from Canada

    Hello Guys,

Since I'm around the forums again I thought I would catch everyone up on my project since I haven't touched it since 2006. Times were hard for me since then but I never got rid of the Fuego. I started again on this project last year in October when I purchased a better body for my project. All i need left is the front bumper.

Here are pictures of the engine build and the old body.

And that's where the project ended its life back on October 14th, 2006

Ok, So last year in October I found a Fuego for sale which I had not seen one for sale in over 5 years. It had a better body and a sunroof which my project car did not have. I decided I would pick it up and try to resurrected the project I had started 8 years earlier.

And so started another project. One to be combined with the engine that was already done.

I will post more pictures as I move along.

    Thanks for looking.

Is that an early front and a late rear bumper? You could rip the raised seprate bump strip of the rear one. It will have grooves where the strips locate, but you could smooth it out and then paint them so they both match in style. Are you painting them Red or a Dark Grey?

Yes, it was all I could find. Finding the world spec bumpers was so hard. The American bumpers are hidious. I don't think it will look too bad. They will be black.

If you pull the trim and smooth it, it will look the same as the front.

We looked but there are a lot of holes to fill and there is a recess which again won't look nice once painted. I don't think it will look bad with the 2 bumpers. Might pick up a phase 1 bumper at a later time.

    rage-man,
I have always liked Red Fuegos, and your bodywork is so good it does the colour even more justice. Did you do the body work yourself ??

    Very well done,

    Thanks,

Thankfully I have a friend in the body shop industry who owns his own shop. He was nice enough to cut me a break and let me do a lot of the body work with his guidance. He was also very patient with me as I did mess a lot of stuff up. FYI the paint is Renault Sport Red (NNC)
