    Default Citroen 5CV

My father-in-law is currently restoring a 1923 5CV. He's done a great job on it so far, completing rebuilding the chassis from local coachwood. The wheels were a real problem, as only two of the six he has were usable. Being a large diameter pressed steel wheel, they work harden around the nuts and crack. There have been many weld repairs over the last 92 years. We tried sourcing good wheels, but to no avail. The only solution was to cut the old centres out and turn up new centres. C-Mac have done a fantastic job as you can see in the pics, even reproducing the Michelin logo. Once filled and painted, you'll never know the difference. So to the purists for wrecking the wheels, but it was the only way to get the car back on the road.
