And to close the day off cleaning the magdick filth / gunk off my poor car here is the last picture once I figured out the instrument jig saw, just waiting now for unbroken binnacle from UK. Will make a nice finish. Lower dash next weekend. Tried fitting radiator but its getting very tight up front and it did not quite sit home, that is for another day.

The prick even stole my steering wheel, f'ing magpie, liked everything shiney he saw, I loath scum like him.

On a brighter note, led light!

Found more filth in the car, he pinched the bulb out of the boot light, swapped over the left rear interior card on one side and pinched a speaker.

Fixed rather serviced the fan and it runs better than new! Dash vents all working.

Here you go Huw, looking good?

Had to do this after I received a nice present from him and RichardW, a newly plated distribution bracket.

So I got his arb brackets out gave them a lick of paint. Time to trick up the rear suspension.

Damn Matthew! You better not open a workshop, you'll put me out of business.

Richard's the one to thank for the bracket. Will be good to see it in the bay when the relays are mounted. Interior is looking schmick.

My latest mail acquisition, spot a pattern? Had to be ADR compliant.

Nice! I've seen these hose kits, I'll be interested to hear how you go with them. Did you get them locally or from Europe/UK?

Local, here in 24 hours from a northern suburb, 260 delivered. A bit more than PEUGEOT 205 1.9 GTI AEROQUIP S/STEEL BRAIDED BRAKE LINES HOSES PIPES MLR.OM | eBay but it must be locally acceptable too, being braided they will be picked up on a proper roadworthyness inspection, so false economy to do otherwise. Especially if they come like these! Available in 14 colours!

That's cheap. Most hydraulics companies will charge $50 each for the short and $80 each for the long for ADR compliant braided hoses.

I thought cheap too. I've been paying $80 per hose. I guess being bling they're a lot cheaper. You can also make your own for a 1/4 of the price, by buying the parts & hose from Motorsport Connections.

I think these guys have a globally accepted hose system that they make up to order in each local country. Cost effective, you can buy a set of front hoses for $80. For that price it would be worth getting an extra hose to cut open and check.

Inevitable really, I now have front brake lines fitted into a master cylinder, add fluid, bleed and they will work! Added teflon antisieze in very small amounts to the threads, they were hard to separate initially.

Rear beam now and disc brakes, refresh bearings and add big arb, on and on it goes

No room for an air cleaner? And what's with the huge non-Pug orientated battery?

Power distribution block backwards? Peter's got a point re air cleaner. Is the plan to turn the inlet down like Hicho's?

Yes battery distribution backwards, the battery believe it or not is now well over 8 years old it was in the car before it went off to scumbag and I retrieved it soon after as I did not want it sitting around for the promised 12 months. Anyway charge occaisionally, battery zapper on and today its still taking full charge, sits 12.7-12.8 and starts the gti6. Huzzah! So its not huge its always been there from time to time.

Yes off to supercheap K&N copy going down not much option currently, I have my old 205 intake but how to mate it with a filter. The other more realistic plan is a 306 battery box for the ecu holder, a lipo battery like Richards, and room in the box for something else, like a power steering resevoir.

The 205 was never designed for all of this so its no surprise space in a premium.

A gratuitous brake line picture from last weekend. I particularly look forward to weekends these days always something to be done, bloody big mechano set really.

Batteries for 205's etc., are mirror reverse, so the terminals are closer to things.

Longer cables nowadays so its a non issue. Will turn it around for the purists! Would be further away alltogether. It will do until a lipo comes in.

    Excellent a quiz!
I'm going with wrong battery... Second guess; induction path blocked...
Third; positive battery terminal upside down, taper backward so not fitting snugly down

The whole things is a guess, not done anything like this before. Just a simple electrical engineer not a mech one.,

Happy days, sensors wired in, idle stepper working and it started first turn, idled and revved, sounded very loud! Time to get a muffler or three. Only downside is one stuck injector, crappy fuel from old filter went in and made them sticky time to add something.

One muffler and one resonator I'd suggest.

Will do, only need to clean the f'ing injectors, I really detest that prick. Crap from old fuel filter, should have known better, a lesson learnt.
