Yes, also cutting out the resonator and patching it up also docking the end where it wraps the power steering pump, moving it back 2.5 cm.

The gear stick is unbelievable with brass bushes and new linkages plus rebuilt box, it is clinical in operation does not have to move much and a definitive pattern., this will be the best thing to try out for real. Big thanks to Adrian W.

Can you not shorten it and keep the resonator?

Would like to but the plan is to make it like your trumpets, then when time and money permit, get a shortened radiator and a full manifold (with air con), expensive but practical. The big issue with resonator is the shortening brings it back towards the head interfering with everything underneath, oil pipes etc

Painted the 306 brake booster (a little movement in the top of the firewall permits fitment) bright red, new speedo cable, heater hose clamp on firewall, refit booster later this afternoon with two washer to tilt it up and silicon to seal it.,This was my Friday night experiment and it will give good brakes with the larger master cylinder.

Of course found another bit stolen, the fuel sender, a trip to jr20516V and an Si being scrapped fixed that.

20 litres of unleaded, plumbed the pump, it went bang on turn of the key but pump stopped immediately, locked ECU maybe but it was bought as definitely unlocked. Anyway needs an exhaust system way too loud.

Big thanks to Scott for showing the way on wiring and fault finding, lots learnt.

Indeed it is, Scott and I debugged it tonight, its the fuel delivery, most likely old filter, ECU is definitively unlocked, it continued to give spark and injectors with fuel pump hot wired.

Doubt over the 6mm fuel lines if they are big enough, but a test on flow next weekend will tell us this. Most likely it will be running next weekend.

    Happier days!

No muffler so must be done during the day. Almost antisocial.

Thanks gents, a 45 mB video but its too big to upload, what a noise! Important safety tip, don't use RFY injectors in an RFS engoine, not compatible, or so it seems. Might have just been dirty / gummed but they did pulse but engine would not fire, suspect unhappy ECU.

Those Magneti Marelli ECU's are fussy about injectors. Cam85 found that the 1AP.10 ECU from the Xsara won't run properly with 306 1AP ECU injectors.

Thanks, now onto the myriad of small things to be done, idle is first which means inlet wiring plumbing rad and air con, get the engine bay together, get an exhaust and finally the dash and then rego!.

Silly me it was RFV injectors, 130 HP motor.

Dash repairs continue, this is to stop the squeeks and repair the damage the prick did. Getting very close top putting it back in, its nice and solid now and does not make noises as it moves, I hope its not too rigid.

Inlet being modified and fitted this weekend and it all comes together, radiator, fluids and hopefully an idling engine!

Dash is in wow, no squeeks, unique installation and repairs! will come out again to figure out the little top middle bolt (small 10mm) that completes it fitment.

    Pictures to follow....
