Default Saving White S3 205 GTi

I saved a nice little white 205 Gti from Sydney area a little while back. Car was in pretty bad shape but the body is straight and had reasonable potential for a quick holiday job. Interior was completely ratty. Carpet was all ripped and gross. The front half leather seats were all split, but still good for the red checkered material.

The car came with an plate type LSD and a magnex straight through exhaust (full on milo tin... :S). Sounds epic though! Also came with a 4.06 FD, a black baker bm silicon hose kit and yellow rear adjustable Koni shocks.

So basically I replaced the seats, carpet and roof lining. I replaced front end components inc. drop links, sway bar bushes, re plumbed the power steering pressure line, tie rod outers, replaced cv boots and clutch. Gave the car a high pressure clean, ran a clay bar over the paintwork and replaced all fluids. Came up pretty good. Drives great and has heaps of power. It's nice to drive perky 8v again.

    Anyway, another one saved.

The one down side is it has a small dent in the hatch (fixable) and the dash fascia is broken. Surprise surprise!

Attached are some before and after shots. Sorry I accidently posted this in the for sale section. Me and my fat thumbs on my phone.

    Enjoy.

That's better, now I can reply. Well done Julian, looks like it has come up a treat, and a great addition to your 205 family. The only thing better than 1.

Thanks man! Yeah it's a sweet little 8v. Was hoping to club reg as a replica 205 Gti model of 24 years old. Buy nothing doing with the change of rego this semester. You might see it partake in D class events in the VCAS sometime soon.

Wow! Thats my mates old car! We sold it gears ago to a chick who I believe drove it into the ground?

We had some repairs done on the sunroof. It was rusting and leaking, rust was cut out and repaired.

That Milo tin exhaust was also actually from my first 205. I bought the car with it on there. Wrote it off and sold the pipe to my mate. I used to love that pipe, it sounds really good I think. Its kinda loud but a nice tone! Its all stainless and has a lifetime warrenty! There used to be a Magnex sticker on the side of the big tip. It fell off one day and they sent a new sticker out to us free! Haha.

Anyway, great to see it cleaned up!

Hahah yeah magical clay bar. Alloy to plastic! But, yes the clay bars are great. Completely removes any grime, any impurities from road use. It leaves a great surface for polishing.

Ahhh Cam that's classic! Was it your friend that changed the FD ratio and LSD? Yeah man who ever had the car had no idea. Though the engine still goes great, burns clean and has a really bity aggressive note.

Still have some electrics to sort out. And I'll replaced the sunroof. I took the sunroof out and have a 205 roof ready to be stitched it. I noticed the leaks first time I sat it in the rain.

It still has one sticker and all it's books.

    Awesome!!

No idea about the LSD and FD. It may have been in there and never noticed!

We didnt know much about 205s back then!

The exhaust really does make a good noise. If you ever want to sell it ill buy it. Even if it is a Milo Can!

The wrong oil is better than no oil at all.

Looks like my mates old 205 - Only unless your mate, is my mate as well?

He sold the car prior to going back to NZ. Drove it - had 307 discs and calipers up front, not too sure as to if it still had them when he sold it...

All I remember was the ratty as f*ck interior...!

That was located around Pendle Hill from memory - I tried to go and check it out when for a sale a while back but the guy was a uni student and difficult to find a time he'd be home. Anyway its been saved now ... congrats on giving it another life.

Yeah that's correct, pendle hill. And if anyone wants to transport a car, I have a really good reliable company I found that will do it with what ever parts you have in the car. CEVA screwed me the first time.

It's a great little car. Also has adjustable yellow Konis in the rear. Had heaps of potential, would have been a real shame if anyone were to scrap it for parts.
